    Variables

Dependent Variable: RAP Rs liking for rap

    Independent Variable: AGECAT Rs age

    Control Variable: RACE Rs race

    Bivariate Hypothesis:

We find two things in this survey. First, we find that there are more people who dislike rap than people

who like rap. Second, we find that a persons age influences how much she or he likes rap music. We can

see that the younger a person is, the more he or she likes rap.

    Multivariate Hypothesis:

We compared and contrasted black people and white peoples liking of rap music. In both races there

are more people who dislike rap music than people who like rap music. However, there are a higher

percentage of white people who dont like rap music than black people. Plainly said, if a person is black,

he or she is more likely to like rap music than a white person would.

    Multivariate Discussion:

We can see that in both white people and black people alike, more people dislike rap music than those

who like rap music. In black people, 24% of those between the ages 18-29 like rap music, while 42%

dislike rap music. In white people, 8% of those between the ages 18-29 like rap music, while 46% dislike

rap music. We also see that there is a greater disparity between those who like rap music and those who

dont in whites than there is in blacks. Upon examination of just the 18-29 year old age group, we see

that there is an 18% difference in black people, while there is a difference of 38% in white people. This

shows us that, even despite the fact that most people dislike rap music, more black people like rap

    music than white people.
