Excursion in Chitwan and Pokhara
Nepal is a country of diverse landscape. From hot and sweltering region
bordering in India, the landscape rises steeply and sometimes steadily to
encompass the mighty Himalayas. Within this landscape, you’ll find green
valleys, deep gorges, forests, steep terrains and rivers that crisscross the
sceneries. The people of Nepal are as diverse as the landscape. The
country is an amalgamation of Aryans that migrated from India and Iran,
and Tibeto-Burman groups that arrived from Tibet, China and Burma.
The Chitwan National Park lies in Terai lowlands in South-Central
region of Nepal covering an area of 932 square kilometers. It is the
oldest park in Nepal and is listed as World Heritage site. The park
has a diverse topography ranging from parts of the Churia hills to
lakes and flood plains. Covered by Sal forest and grassland, the park
is inhabited by more than 43 species of mammals, including the
endangered one-horned rhinoceros, tiger, and gharial crocodile, 450
species of birds, including the endangered Bengal florican, giant
hornbill, lesser florican, black stork, and while stork and over 4
species of amphibians and reptiles such as marsh crocodile, cobra,
green pit viper, frogs and tortoises.
Pokhara beautiful city lies to the mid western part of Nepal and is 200 km drive and
30 minute flight from Kathmandu. It gives you very scenic and panoramic views of the
Himalayas. The enormous range of Annapurna, the Pyramid shaped Machhapuchhre
(Fishtail) and the boasting Dhaulagiri is the attraction to the Pokhara valley. There are
three lakes which are: Phewa the main lake. The ancient Gupteshwar Cave and the
breathtaking water fall which is known as Davy’s Fall help to decorate the valley.
It is said that seeing is believing. See with your
own eyes and realize how beautiful Pokhara is.
Words are inadequate to describe Pokhara. So,

HIGHLIGHTS

DAY 1 DEPART TO CHITWAN
We will take you to Chitwan by Tourist bus. It takes about 6-7 hours and about 150 Km away from Kathmandu. You
will reach into the Hotel in Saurah and overnight stay here where you can do:
- Cultural Tour (Visit to Tharu Village and Museum)
- Tharu Stick Dance
DAY 2 ACTIVITIES IN CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK
- Riverside Sunset View
- Canoe Ride
- Visit to Elephant Breeding Centre
DAY 3 ACTIVITIES IN CHITWAN NATIONAL PARK AND TRANSFERRED TO POKHARA
After Breakfast, transferred to Pokhara by tourist bus. It takes about 5-6 hours to reach Pokhara. Overnight stay in
Pokhara.
DAY 4 SUNRISE VIEW AND POKHARA VELLY SIGHTSEEING
Sunrise View - On this tour we take you to Sarangkot, which is famous point for Himalaya
views and sunrise views. You can view Annapurna range and Fish tail so closely and nicely.
The departure time is 4.30 am and the duration of the tour is 3 hour.
Pokhara Valley sight seeing - This tour provides you with special scenes of historical and religious places in Pokhara
valley. They are as follows:
A.
Pokhara city:
The main part of the city is Mahendrapul where you can find lots of shops and
supermarket. There are also some old bazzars with ancient architectures. Bhimsen
tole, Ram Krishna tole and Ganesh tole are popular for this.
B.
Binda Basini Temple:
This is one of the oldest and famous temple in Pokhara. It is situated on the top of a
small hill from where you can the popular area of the Pokhara valley. The temple is
dedicated to Goddess Durga. People from different places come to pray and sacrifice
animals to make their Goddess happy.
C.
Seti River Gorge:
This gorge is very narrow cut by the milky water of the Seti River from where you can
see the white turbulence of the Seti, 60 meter below to ground level. This exciting
deep gorge can be viewed from any bridge over Seti River. The K.I. Singh Bridge is
one of the best view points of the gorge.
D.
Gupteshwar Cave:
It is also called Mahadev Cave which is situated southern part in the Pokhara valley.
There is a statue of Go Vishnu with black colored inside the cave. It is a long cave and
except monsoon season, along with the cave, we can walk up to the Devis Waterfall.

Davi’s Water fall:
This is another breathtaking scene for the visitor. The fall’s famous name is Davi’s fall
but the Nepali name of the fall is Patale Chhango. It means underground water fall.
This is a stream over flowing Fewa Lake which suddenly collapses and surges down
the rocks deep in the gorge.
F.
Fewa Lake:
The Fewa Lake, the most attractive point of Pokhara is second biggest lake in Nepal.
It is situated in the north west of the valley covering 4.5 sq km in area. There is a
small island in the middle of the lake where the famous temple of Goddes Barahi is
located. In its serene water, all the Annapurna range and nicely preserved forest on
the adjoining southern slope are reflected. It can be taking a relaxing rowing boat
ride on the lake. You are also being able to swim and fish in the lake. The lake is one
of the unique beauties of Pokhara.
Day 5 RETURN TO KATHMANDU
After breakfast in hotel, return back to Kathmandu by tourist bus. It takes about 6-7 hours from Pokhara to
Kathmandu. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
