June 29th 2018
a teaching technology in education conference
#exabytes18We’re delighted to be hosting our annual technology in education conference, #exabytes18.
This year marks the third year we’ve run #exabytes, and we’re expecting it to be particularly special, with some absolutely fantastic presenters taking part. We’ve got a packed schedule lined up, covering everything from creating Hollywood blockbusters on a budget to coding and printing 3D shapes, so this programme should help you in deciding which sessions to attend - there’s lots to choose from!
We’ve worked to make #exabytes more accessible than ever before, while maintaining the spirit that makes this CPD day a unique opportunity for teachers. We’d like to thank all those who’ve volunteered their time to run sessions, and we hope you have a fantastic time at #exabytes18.
The day will begin with our keynote speaker, Miles Berry, in the French Ballroom at 09:00 and he’ll be followed by Chief Executive of the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, Kersten England.
Subject leader for Computing Education at the University of Roehampton, Miles Berry has worked in a huge range of subject areas, helping to train
and develop the next generation of Computing teachers. Miles will be discussing
‘There’s more to blocks than Scratch.’
Miles looks at how far the young (and not so young) programmer can take coding with block based languages, showcasing functional programming in Snap!, media computation and object orientation in GP and physical computing with MakeCode.
