More than 250 climbers attempting to climb Everest this spring

The mountaineering season in Nepal has begun! The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation has issued 704 climbing permits to 83 expeditions; 26 alone for the world’s highest peak: Mount Everest. A total of 251 climbers will attempt to set foot on the summit of the mighty Everest.

The government collects more than US$ 3,5 million during the spring season; thanks to the high permit cost to climb Everest that accounts for more than 80% of the income generated.
