FIRST CIRCULAR



Dear colleagues and friends!

Herewith we would like to invite you to the 23rd meeting of the European Vegetation Survey that

will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 8th to 12th May 2014. We propose wide topics of the

workshop in order to give opportunity to all colleagues to present their research results. Our plan

for this workshop includes three days of presentations and two days of excursions. The excursions

aim to show you the typical habitats of Slovenia, for this purpose there will be a mid-workshop

excursion where you can choose which of the three options (dry grasslands, wet meadows and

primeval forests) is more attractive to you, and a post-workshop excursion where we will visit dry

grasslands and wet meadows.

The annual meeting of the European Vegetation Survey is one of the most important meetings in

the field of vegetation science in Europe, which offers to participants the possibility to get

acquainted with the development of science in this field. In the 23rd Workshop of the European

Vegetation Survey you will have opportunity to present your research achievements with lectures

and posters, discuss various topics with the colleagues, build personal contacts and enjoy the

excursions.

The 23rd Workshop of the IAVS Working Group European Vegetation Survey will take place in

Ljubljana from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th May 2014, with a post-workshop excursion on Monday

12th May 2014.

2. Balkan vegetation.
