• Duelling with his best friend using sticks, and racing for a bet.

• Has to compete with his very egotistical best friend.

• Appears immature.

• Very careful to ensure he makes a good impression with others and doesn’t loose his cool.

• His general stance is often quite arrogant and/or very casual...

• Leaning back with his hands behind his head during conversation or interaction with other characters.

• When focused, he is very attentive and his posture very straight.

• When casual he often slouches and shifts from side to side.

• When about to fight, Sora poses in a very typical attack position, with feet spread apart, back bent forward, and weapon at the ready to the side.

• Runs with a spring in his step.

• Fights in a very childish way, with twirls and summersaults and pirouette aerial jumps (he holds a key for goodness sake).

• Generally uses his hands very dramatically and moves abruptly when communicating and trying to prove a point.

• Sora is a very emotional and somewhat dramatic teenager.

• Facial features are often exaggerated to reinforce and communicate emotion.

• His massive eyes assist in this exaggeration.

• When Sora prepares for an attack or defence, he’ll express this by clenching his teeth, focus his eyes, etc.

• Unrealistically Western-American for a Japanese game :P.........standard.

• Sora’s voice comes across very high pitched (his voice is breaking at this age lol).

• Dramatic and exaggerated.

• He often is in a rush to spill something out or make a point, especially if he needs to prove something, prove himself, or if he is simply mad.

• Very open to others and isn’t afraid to let characters invade his personal space.

• Loves to hug and be close to friends, he jumps around with other people.

• It is clear of his youthful age that he explores things by touching them – he’ll often pick things up to examine, or in the case of another character, show expression through a pat on the back, etc.

• Will often attempt to reach out.

• Often sympathetic even towards enemies, which in one incident has placed him in a bit of trouble:

• The use of bright and bold primary colours on his (tracksuit?) pants and oversized sneakers.

•His attire greatly stands out to match his energetic personality.

• Wields a Keyblade – a rather innocent and unthreatening weapon.

Different ‘forms’ have different outfits

• The game focuses more on the actual island that Sora grew up in – has more importance to his playful character.

• The tiny moment we do get to glimpse at Sora’s room tells us much about this character

• His boyish tendency to be lazy is seen with his clothes strewn on the floor

• Hanging toys and stacked shelves reflects that age of having fun and playing.

Sora does appeal to his younger audience through his over emotive and friendly appearance, vibrant attire, curiosity and the need to prove himself, which stays true to the personality of a typical young, lively and energetic

fourteen year old boy. He is approachable, friendly and sympathetic towards others, while his innocence also allows him to stay playful, light-hearted and mischievous. He can act silly when he is in a good mood, serious when he is

focused, or angry when he believes there is no justice, all enforced by his exaggerated facial expressions, vigorous hand movements, and intense body

language.
