In the art of automotive engineering the GLE Coupé stands for a new expressionism. Sensational proportions, broad shoulders and powerfully modelled wheel arches lend the design its sensual purity. The characteristic coupé silhouette and the wide track embody power and dynamism. For a completely new extremely individual radiance.

Understatementis overrated.

Strength of character: the DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes. A comfortable, sporty, winter-optimised or completely individual suspension setting can be called up using the Controller of the DYNAMIC SELECT in the centre console. The “Comfort” mode facilitates particularly balanced and efficient driving. “Sport” is charac-terised by a sportier tuning for the suspension, which has been lowered by an additional 15 mm, sportily taut damper tuning (in conjunction with AIRMATIC in each case), a more direct steering feel, and modified shift points. For the three Mercedes-AMG models the “Sport Plus” mode can be called up as standard with extremely sporty switching and

damping characteristics plus with special tuning of the active light function and main beam. The “Slippery” transmission mode provides optimised handling on icy and snow-covered roads. And “Individual” makes it possible for the driver to adjust the various parameters – from the steering and drive system to the suspension – to suit their own requirements. An experience in its own right is the lavish showcasing of the selected transmission mode via the CENTRAL MEDIA DISPLAY.

Emotional intelligence: the AIRMATIC air suspension with the Adaptive Damping System ADS PLUS.In combination with the Adaptive Damping System ADS PLUS, the air suspension – optional or standard, depending on the engine – reduces road roar and tyre vibration characteristics, whilst also ensuring excellent driving dynamics. The damping at each wheel is adapted to the current driving situation and road surface condition. Pitching and rolling can be effectively reduced, for example when cornering or braking. The driver can

decide on a comfortable or more sporty configuration for the AIRMATIC package. The self-levelling system ensures that the level of the car remains constant, irrespective of the load and driving condition. At high speeds and in the “Sport” transmission mode the car is lowered by up to 15 mm, and by as much as 25 mm in the “Sport Plus” transmission mode, helping to reduce wind resistance and improve handling stability.

Design performance: the AMG Lines.Standard equipment and EXCLUSIVE interior.Series-production extras: even in its standard-equipment guise the new GLE Coupé (top illustration) awaits you with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the LED Intelligent Light System, sports seats at the front plus fine ARTICO man-made leather for the upper part of the dashboard. The ExCLUSIVE interior (bottom illustration) is available on request: the highlights are the luxury seats with leather upholstery, multicoloured fibre-optic cables in the cockpit and in the doors, plus illuminated door sill panels at the front.

The optional AMG Line exterior accelerates glances thanks to features such as the AMG Line front and rear apron plus large AMG light-alloy wheels, painted titanium grey and with a high-sheen finish. Sports seats in nappa leather, with the choice of red contrasting topstitching, a multifunction sports steering wheel, sports pedals plus a specific instrument cluster, form the optional sportily exclusive AMG Line interior.

Bewitching black: the Night package. Driving performance: the Mercedes-AMG models.With striking design elements in black, the optional Night package underscores the sporty, expressive character of the car. It builds on the AMG Line exterior. The louvre in the radiator grille and the simulated underguard at the front and rear are finished in high-gloss black, while the exhaust tailpipes are in chrome (in black in the case of the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC). Further highlights are the AMG light-alloy wheels and exterior mirrors, in black in each case, plus the dark-tinted glass from the rear doors. The window weatherstrip and the shoulderline trim strips in black round off the Night package.

Never did an SUV have more S. Three Mercedes-AMG models form the first row on the starting grid: the new Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC with a V6 biturbo engine, specific AMG components, for example on the chassis and steering system, and AMG design features. Yet more driving performance is offered by the new uncompromisingly sporty Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 4MATIC with a V8 biturbo engine and the S-Model which is sharper still (see illustration, including optional running boards) with 430 kW (585 hp) and a maximum of 760 Nm torque.
