2. When you click on Learn More, it will take you to our OPAC library system.

Sign in to the system with your library membership number and pin/password.

3. Click on eResources at the top of the blue bar and

scroll down to IELTS Road to IELTS - General or IELTS

Road to IELTS - Academic.

4. Click on View resource online. This will take you to the

Road to IELTS’s portal.

5. Sign in using your library card and pin into the portal. You will now see a box where you can Sign In / Register for an account, or enter the app as a Guest. IIf you plan to use Road to IELTS regularly, it is best to create an account by clicking on “Sign in/Register. This allows you to track your progress through the package.

How to use Road to IELTS

i. You will need a device with speakers or headphones because there will be listening exercises.

ii. The front page shows which module you are using (Academic or General Training). It also shows you the 4 main skill areas – Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. There are also other useful links such as “Check Your Progress” and “Progress Report”.

iii. The 4 skill areas (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing) each contain 4 sections (Starting Out, [etc]. Click on each heading to begin that section:

- Starting Out – an introduction section that contains a video and an eBook. This describes how this skill will be tested.

- Advice and Tutorials – this contains videos where teachers and past students share tips on how to succeed in this skill.

- Practice Zone – sets of practice questions, ranked in order of difficulty. Click on a Set Number to start. The app can mark your answers so you can get immediate feedback on your work.

- Test Practice – mock exam papers that can be down-loaded / printed.

iv. To move to a different activity, click on one of the grey buttons at the top right of the screen. To go to a differ-ent skill area, click on the Home icon at the top left of the screen to go back to the Main Menu, then choose a different skill.

Other tools

• If you register for an account with Road to IELTS, you can access extra tools to help you track and manage your test preparations. Links to these tools are found in the top half of the Main Menu.

What does Road to IELTS contain?

Yarra Plenty Regional Library is offering free access to library members to the full version of Road to IELTS.

The full version offers over 500 exercises / activities including:• Downloadable study guides (eBooks)• Online exercises with instant feedback• Tutorial videos with advice from teachers and students• Downloadable practice tests (with answers)• Study planners and tools to help you reach your goals methodically.

The materials cover all four key skills of Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking.

• Insert your test date here – this creates a countdown timer to help you track how much time there is left until your IELTS test.

These two tools are part of the Resource Bank, which also contains an IELTS Score Calculator (helps you estimate what score you will get) and also some Video Advice from past candidates (tips on how to study and how to do the test).

• Download Study Planner – this section contains tips and checklists that can help you improve your preparations. These sheets can be downloaded and printed.

• Check your progress – this list keeps track of what exercis-es you have done and in which sections. You can also see this by clicking Progress Report at the top of the screen.

• CD IELTS is some information / advertising about comput-er-based IELTS testing – a new way to sit the test. It increas-es the number of test dates available, and also you can receive your test results sooner.
