Easy to automate & control at maximum flow capacity with minimum torque & pressure loss. VALBOL Series 50 wafer Ball Valves are designed to meet all standards in a wide variety of industries including, chemi- cal processing, petrochemical, oil and gas production, pulp and paper and others. Capable of handling a wide range of liquids and gases in these industries, these valves offer all the advantages inherent in a ball valve; quick, quarter-turn operation, visual indication of the valve position, light weight compact size. Available in sizes 3”, 4” and 6” these wafer valves are desig- ned to mount between ANSI flanges class 150# and 300#. with fire safety, their rugged construction facilitates inspec- tion and repair while insuring long life and durability. Like all Valbol ball valves, they offer tighter shutoff, high cycle life with lower torques to operate, and the ability to automate with a choice of pneumatic or electric actuation. • Unique Stem Sealing Design Automatically compensates for normal wear as well as for seal expansion and contraction cause by temperature fluctuations. • Blowout-Proof Stem. • One Piece Body Construction in all sizes. Specifications Sizes: 3”, 4” & 6”. Body: One-piece construction all sizes. Materials available in stainless steel ASTM A351 GR. CF8M; or carbon steel ASTM A216, GR. WCB. Ball and Stem: 316 stainless steel. Seats: PTFE, Reinforced PTFE & C/fill seats are available. Body Seal: PTFE, Graphoil. Operation: Valves are supplied with a handle operator. VALBOL offers a complete line of pneumatic and electric au-tomation packages for Series 50 valves. Both pneumatic and electric packages are offered for on/off or proportional control. Available options include

• Top mounted limit switches• Proximity switches• Single and double acting pneumatic actuators• TYPE 4, 4x, 7 and 9 enclosures• Remote position indication• Positioners

Before an actuator can be sized for any given valve appli-cation the operating torque required for the valve must be determined. The operating torque of a ball valve is influen-ced by a number of factors, some are design and materials related, others are application and service conditions. De-sign related factors include the type and material of the val-ve seats, while application factors include system differential pressure, media and frequency of operation. For complete valve operating torque data refer to the torque curves given for each seat material, and provide the correction factor for media and the type of service such as on-off operation, cy-cle frequency, etc.
