Epidemiology Certificate of Completion Are you passionate about health and wellness issues, such as childhood obesity, hypertension, healthcare disparity, infectious disease epidemics, environment and health, and workplace safety (to name a few)? Do you want to help entire groups of people by changing their health behaviors and health resources, rather than just treating individual sick patients? The Certificate of Completion in Epidemiology is a 15 credit program that explores methods of collecting and evaluating population-based data to answer public health questions. It includes approaches for: obtaining data from human subjects, assessing associations in the data, and inferring causality. Courses in this program provide learning opportunities and job training in observational study design and analysis approaches, and introductory statistical programming, as well as practical considerations for conducting population-based studies in the field and communicating research to the public. Applied work in the certificate includes case studies, group projects, and self- selected epidemiology research project skills.
