EPACBeyond Summer 2015….where do we go from here?

Bylaws of EPAC

MISSION STATEMENT:

• It is the mission of East Pennsboro Aquatic Club to provide the youth of our community with a high-quality instructional and competitive swimming program that fosters the mental, physical and emotional development of quality athletes – both in and out of the pool.

• No EPAC coach shall be empowered to commit the EPAC or its Board to any financial or legal obligation without prior approval from the Board.

Issues Faced Over Past Year

Constant worry about having a pool to swim Constant concern about numbers with regards to

residential rate Board members vacating New system (TeamUnify) Is there a better way?

Option 1– Move Entire Team to Central Penn

PRO Team is all in one place promoting team unity

CON Potentially a large increase in rates for fall

If we change name, reapply for new EIN and non profit status

No concession stand, no home meets

Option 2- Keep EPAC at Two Pools

PRO Potentially keep costs in check

Continue to provide EP residents geographically close pool

CON Great challenge to create a unified team atmosphere

Constant battle with school board and keeping residential numbers in check

Option 3- Split Into Two Separate Teams

PRO EP residents do not have to worry about cost

EP keeps their community based club

CON Lose coaches and divide team into two

Still need to worry about EPMS shutting down pool in future

New EIN and apply for non profit status for the new team

Team Fundraising

• Individual accounts is nice but will not sustain the club

• Central Penn and Partnership (learn to swim)

• Starting Blocks

Rates

• How high is too high?

• Team Fundraising

• WHY does your child swim?

EPMS

• Applying for grant but will not know until October

• EPAC write a proposal asking for change in residential rate

• Parents can write letter now in support

Petition and Grant

• We are writing our application as we speak.  It’s due the end of the month.  So we are doing what we can.  We would appreciate if you or others from the community whether EPAC parents or not write a letter of support for the pool.  Everyone can sign one letter.  It would definitely support our application we are writing.
