Regents Permitts Add to Deforestation: Study

Forestry activists heave warned of a sharp increase in the national deforestation

rate if the government fails to deal with the overlapping permits issued for forest

    concessions and industrial timber forest.

Greenomics Indonesias latest study found about 18.4 million hectares of forest

concession areas and forest production had mostly been occupied by plantation and mining

companies. Thanks to permits issued by regents.

It is an illegal practice. The regants have no rights to issue permits for plantation

companies to operate or occupy forest concessions and industrial area. Only the Forestry of

Ministry can do that, Greenomics National Coordinator Vanda Dewi told the Jakarta Post on

    Monday.

The government has allocated a total of 60.91 million hectares for forest concession

or for production forests. With the overlapping permits, illegal occupation of the forest concession areas and

industrial forest will contribute more to the national deforestation rate than illegal logging

practice, she said. (The Jakarta Post)

    An Unlucky Day

One morning, i got up with the feeling that the day was going to be an unlucky onefor me. How right it was! I found that it was already 06:15 am.

I rushed into the bathroom. I didnt see the piece of soap lying on the floor. I

speeded on it and slipped, almost breaking my back in the process.

Then, I went into the dining room for my breakfast. I gulped down the tea without

because my tongue hurt. I got dressed and rushed to the bus stop. Unfortunately, I just

missed the bus. My heart sank and I knew that I would be late for school.

When I reached school, my name was taken down by the teacher. The teacher

scolded me for being late. To my humiliation, I was made to stand outside the class. I was so

upset by the incidents that I could not study properly. But worse was to come.

After school, I was on my way home when something hard hit me on the head.Someone had thrown a bag of fish bones out of the window and it landed on me! I was

boiling with rage but could do nothing. However, luckily for me, this only raised a small.

    attractive key chains.

My family and i would like to invite you to Jakarta during your next school vocation. I would

love to introduce you to many sights, sounds, and taste of our multicultural heritage.

With so much to see and enjoy in Jakarta, you will need to stay for at leat a week. We lookforward to seeing you.

Thank you once again for your hospitality and for making sure i had a wonderful holiday.

Please send my best wish to your parents.

    B. Layered white cloud.

    How the Water Cycle Works

Solar energy evaporates exposed water from seas, lakes, rivers and wet soil; the

majority of this evaporation takes place over the seas. Water is also released into the

atmosphere by the plants through photosynthesis. During this process, known as evaporate

transpiration, water vapor rises into the atmosphere.

Clouds form when air becomes saturated with water vapor. The two major types of

cloud formation are stratified or layered grey clouds called stratus and billowing white or

dark grey cloud called cumulus clouds.

Precipitation as rain or hail ensures that water returns to Earths surface in a fresh

form. Some of this rain, however, falls into the seas and is not accessible to humans. Whenrain falls, it either washes downhill slopes or seeps underground; when snow and hail melts,

this water may also sink into the ground.

Rain fall also replenishes river water supplies, as does underground water. Snow fall

may consolidate into glaciers and ice sheets which, when they melt, release their water into

the ground, into stream or into the seas.

The movies are about a huge ape that stands 7.6 meters tall and weighs 3,600

Kong involved over 5,000 computers with the processing power of more than 15,000 PCs

This project consumed so much electricity at the special effects house, Weta Digital,

that the company had to build a special substation to prevent any electrical disruption to

The director of the movie is Peter Jackson, the renowned director of the Lord of the

The story is about Ann (played by Naomi Watts) who falls in love with a scriptwriter,

Jack Driscoll (played by Adrien Brody). They go trough hell when the natives catch her and

offer her to King Kong as a sacrifice.

The most thrilling part of the movie is seeing the giant ape battling against T-Rexes

    90. What is the best movie of the Harry Potter series so far and why?

    a. Four wedding and a Funeralbecause it was directed by Mike Newell

    HARRY POTTER

Within five years, Harry Potter movie has entered into its fourth installment, The

Goblet of Fire. The story is written by the original famous author, J.K Rowling, and directed

for the first time by an incredible British director, Mike Newell (four weddings and a

    funeral) in the British Franchise.

The three leading roles of Harry Potter are Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and

Ron Weasley, played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint respectively.

These three teenagers have become famous for their roles in Harry Potter movies and

have already signed on for the fifth installment. The Order of the Phoenix.

The Goblet of Fire is undoubtedly the best of the J.K Rowlings Harry Potter movies

at present. This fourth movie is the funniest, scariest and perhaps the most emotional and

sensational in the Harry Potter series. The clever arrangement of the ever expanding cast

coupled with special eye-popping visual and sound effects creates an on-screen magical

performance that will make viewers spellbound and entertained.

In the Goblet of Fire, everything is excellently arranged from the grand entrance of

the foreign exchange students to the incredible action pieces to the horrific appearance of

Fiennes appropriately serpentine and eerie Lord Voldemort. Not all are creepy; some parts

are comical showing the awkwardness of being a teenager, like jealousy and angst mood

swings. There is a part where a cheeky bathtub visitation by ghostly Moaning Myrtle

    evokes laughter.

Perhaps the most interesting scene in the Goblet of Fire is Harrys mid-air battle

Where Theres a Willis a book written in 2003 by John Mortimer. Mortimer, who

was born in 1923, is famous for his Rumpole of the Bailey, a story about a barrister namedHorace Rumpole. Mortimer leaves this fictional character behind for Where Theres a Will,

which reflects on his thought and observations on life.

The essays in Where Theres a Will follow one another as naturally as the topics in

a comfortably rambling conversation. There are pages on the pleasures of drinking. There

is a piece on the problem of free will and the difficulties that religious figures have in

explaining why the Almighty should allow the existence of pain and suffering. Mortimers

targets are those who would tell us how to speak and to think because he rails against this

    sort of attitude.

This book is much more than a blast against a timid, conformist society. The

chapters are brief and to the point, as Mortimer provides his readers with his last will and

testament of sorts that uses literary references to emphasize his philosophy of enjoyingyourself. All the time we are made aware of the fact that Mortimer is thoroughly decent

    and explosively funny.

Does Where Theres a Will amount to any kind of coherent philosophy of life? Of

course not; nor should it. Treat it as a haphazard collection of random misings, written
