ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEVEL TEST Programmes are conducted exclusively in English. For this reason, students are expected to be proficient in written and spoken English: Undergraduate students not lower than B1 Level (following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages approved by the Council of Europe). Assessments of the English language proficiency certificates equivalent to level B1: TOEFL Paper 477-510, TOEFL IBT 53-64, IELTS 4.5-5.0. Graduate students not lower than B2 Level (following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages approved by the Council of Europe). Assessments of the English language proficiency certificates equivalent to level B2: TOEFL Paper 513-547, TOEFL IBT 65-78, IELTS 5.5-6.0. Those who do not have certificate attesting their English language skills (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.) and submitted application documents for degree programmes can take the English language level test for free via long distance. The English Language Level Test is an interactive English language initiation test done on-line in the Moodle environment. The aim of the test is to check and assess the English language level of the applicants. If the applicants have passed the IELTS or TOEFL tests, they do not have to take this test. English Language Level Test checks the competences of the language use of the applicants the knowledge of grammar, phonetics, vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. It is comprised of 100 items of different tasks. The knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, pronunciation, reading comprehension and language in use skills are assessed using various types of tasks: multiple choice, gap fill, true-false statements, sentence completion, etc. The test takes 90 minutes. The total score of correct answers is graded. The applicants having produced 65-80% of the tasks correctly are of Level B1, The applicants having produced 81-100% of the tasks correctly are of Level B2.
