VGAM(Vein of Galen AVM)

1. Congenital disease 영 . 유아에서 heart failure,tachycardia 등의 증상을 통해발견2. Normal circulation internal cerebral vein, basal vein 을 통하여 Vein of Galen SS(straight sinus),TS(transverse sinus) VGAM internal cerebral vein, basal vein 을 통하여 Vein of Galen falcine sinus, TS(transverse sinus) 또는 SS(superior saggital sinus)3. Embolization 이 유일한 치료방법

2. Classifications * True vein of Galen aneurismal malformations * vein of Galen dilatations

3. Two subtypes * Choroidal form : fistula site 의 위치가 vein of Galen 의 앞쪽에 있으며 pericallosal artery, anterior choroidal artery(AChA),sub- apendymal branchs of the thalamoperforating vessels 이 main feeder 가 되며 대부분의 type 이 여기에 해당된다 . * mural type : fistula site 의 위치가 vein of Galen 의 뒤쪽에 있으며 shunt amount 가 적어서 나중에 증상이 나타난다

4. Complications

* obstructive hydrocephalus * atrophy of adjacent tructures due to compressions, * venous thrombosis and hemorrhage, * ischemia, heart failure(common)
