Primăriei nr. 36 Tel/Fax: 004-0259-418-244 The Department of English Language and Literature and the Department of Modern Languages are pleased to announce the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE on English Language & Literatures in English to be held on 14-15 September 2012 The conference commiee welcomes original contributions on such topics as follows: British Literature American Literature Cultural Studies Literary Theory and Criticism Ethnic Studies Gender Studies Language Studies Translation Studies ESP Literatures in the English Language Multilingualism and Multiculturalism Postcolonial Studies Central Europe and the English-Speaking World A selection of papers will be published in The Roundtable, the Partium Journal of English Studies, as well as in book form. New Deadline for Submission of Proposal: 15 July 2012 Conference fee: Participants from Romania: 150 RON Participants from abroad: 40 EURO The fee will be paid upon arrival. The fee covers participation costs, coee breaks, cocktail on the 14th (Friday), lunch and closing dinner on the 15th (Saturday), conference program, publication in The Roundtable, the Partium Journal of English Studies and in book form. Accommodation The PCU hostel: 10 EURO/night, in double or triple bedded rooms; shared bathroom. The Atrium Hotel - see www.hotelatrium.ro – a ten minute leisurely walk from the railway station and another twenty minute walk to the PCU while enjoying the view of downtown fin-de-siècle architectural style. Conference Venue: The conference will take place in the main building at the Partium Christian University (PCU) of Oradea. Oradea can be reached: by train – from Bucharest (via Cluj), Timisoara (via Arad) or Budapest by plane – for domestic flights, from Bucharest; from abroad, we recommend landing in Budapest and taking a train from there. Getting to the university: From the railway station: If you want a cab, we recommend you cross the street and take it from near the tram station. If you feel like walking, just follow the tram line, then past the hypermarket on your right, until you reach the pedestrian street that will take you downtown. Once you get to the city hall, turn right and in five minutes you’ll be in front of the university main building, on your right. From the airport: there are no buses, but cabs are available at all times. Those who wish to present a paper are kindly asked to submit a 150-200 word abstract.
