This KEY OPERATORS GUIDE contains all of the programs and programming information for use by the Key Operator. The programs allow the Key Operator to tailor many functions of the SD-2060 for specific modes of operation. These programs can only be accessed after a Key Operator Code Number has been entered. Please familiarise yourself with this entire guide. Keep it handy, and refer to it as needs arise for the information you will need to keep the SD-2060 operating smoothly.

Function Sets the copiers initial settings in the ready condition. Recalls the total copy counts of the copier, RADF, duplex module, and staple sorter. Determines whether shift direction change is to be allowed. Sets the initial mode for erase function. Prevents insert pages from being stored in job memory. Sets the length of time that messages are displayed. Prevents the copier from being started by people other than key operator. Prevents automatic paper selection. Prevents automatic switching between the paper trays. Prohibits the use of the bypass tray during duplex copying. Prevents stored programs from being altered. Prevents the use of the RADF when it malfunctions. Temporarily prevents the duplex system from operating when it malfunctions. Allows the use of the copier but not the duplex system. KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P10 Auditing ModeProgram P10 is used to enable or disable the basic auditing mode of operation. When disabled, the message in the display will be READY TO COPY. Access to copying is open to any operator. When enabled, the message in the display will be ENTER YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER -----. Copying in this state is limited to operators with an assigned 5-digit account number. A maximum of 500, 5-digit account numbers can be assigned. Use Key Operator Program P14 to assign account numbers.

P11 Copies by AccountProgram P11 is used to display or print the total number of copies made against each account number. For printing the data, an optional counter commander SF-EA13 is needed. (See page 23 for instructions to print.) When P11 is entered, the following message will appear. P11: COPIES BY ACCOUNT. 1.PRINT 2.DISPLAY(SINGLE)

For printing the data, an optional counter commander SFEA13 is needed. (See page 23 for instructions to print.) When P12 is entered, the following message will appear. P12: BILLING BY ACCOUNT. 1.PRINT 2.DISPLAY(SINGLE)

For printing the data, an optional counter commander SF-EA13 is needed. (See page 23 for instructions to print.) When P14 is entered, the following message will appear.

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P15 Price/Copy SettingProgram P15 is used to set the price per copy. Three price per copy values can be set (#1, #2, and #3). As copies are made, the cumulative cost of the copies is kept in memory. When P15 is entered, the following message will appear. P15: PRICE/COPY SETTING. ENTER NEW UNIT PRICE AND PRESS START. USE INTERRUPT KEY FOR DECIMAL POINT. PRICE CODE #1 #2 #3 PRESENT PRICE NEW PRICE ----------------

Enter the new price for price code #1 by using the 10key pad and then press the START key.q q q

Use the INTERRUPT key for decimal points. Similarly enter the prices for price codes #2 and #3. If the START key is pressed without entering a value, the price per copy will not be changed.

To change the price code for an individual account number, enter the account number, press the START key, and enter the price code (#0, #1, #2, and #3). To change all accounts to a single price code, enter the price code only. (Skip account number entry by pressing the START key.)q

#0 means no price per copy will be set.

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P16 Account Limit SettingProgram P16 is used to set the maximum number of copies which can be made against an assigned account number. When P16 is entered, the following message will appear.

P16: ACCOUNT LIMIT SETTING. 1.LIMIT. 2.CANCEL LIMIT.

To set a limit1.

Press key 1.q

The following message will appear.

INPUT AN ACCOUNT NUMBER TO BE LIMITED. ACCOUNT # , PRESS START.

Enter the account number to be limited and press the START key.q

To set a limit for all accounts, enter the limit only. Skip the account number entry by pressing the START key.

P17 Machine Identification NumberProgram P17 is used to enter or print the machine number, which will be printed with the machine auditing data using programs P11, P12, P14, and P29. For printing the data, an optional counter commander SF-EA13 is needed. (See page 23 for instructions to print.) When P17 is entered, the following message will appear.

P17: MACHINE NUMBER CONTROL. 1.ENTER 2.PRINT

To enter the machine number1. Press key 1.q

P18 Account Number SecurityProgram P18 is used to prevent users from gaining access to accounts by entering code numbers through trial and error. If P18 is selected and an operator enters three successive invalid account numbers, the copier will not accept another number for one minute and the message PLEASE SEE YOUR KEY OPERATOR FOR ASSISTANCE. will appear. When P18 is entered, the following message will appear.

P18: ACCOUNT NUMBER SECURITY. MESSAGE REQUIRED WHEN 3 SUCCESSIVE INPUT ERRORS ARE MADE FOR ACCOUNT? 1.YES 2.NO

Select either yes or no using the 10-key pad.

P20 Auto Exposure AdjustUse P20 to lighten or darken copies in the automatic exposure mode. The factory setting is NORMAL. When P20 is entered, the following message will appear.

P20: AUTO EXPOSURE ADJUST. 1.LIGHTEST 2.LIGHTER 3.NORMAL 4.DARKER 5.DARKEST

Select the desired exposure level using the 10-key pad.

P21 Power Up TimerThe power up timer will automatically turn off the power to the copier after a length of time has elapsed from the time the copier was turned on. Use P21 to select the mode and to set the time interval. The interval can be set for up to 24 hours in 10 minute increments. When P21 is entered, the following message will appear.

P21: POWER UP TIMER. SET THE TIME INTERVAL FOR POWER UP 0:00 AND PRESS START. TO CANCEL PRESS C KEY AND THEN THE START KEY.

To cancel the power up timer1. 2. Press the CLEAR/STOP key. Press the START key.

P22 Toner Save ModeThe toner save mode will reduce toner consumption by approximately 10% in the automatic and manual exposure modes. Copies will be lighter but still adequate for general use. When this mode is selected, the photo mode is not affected. When P22 is entered, the following message will appear. P22: TONER SAVE MODE 1.YES 2.NO

Select either yes or no using the 10-key pad.

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P23 Auto Clear SettingUse P23 to set the time interval to return the copier to the initial settings after the last copy of a run has been completed. The time can be set from 10 to 240 seconds in 10 second increments. When P23 is entered, the following message will appear.

P23: AUTO CLEAR SETTING. SET THE TIME FOR AUTO CLEAR. 0 (10 TO 240 SECONDS), PRESS START.

Set the desired time interval using the 10key pad. Press the START key.

P24 Add or Change Extra PresetsTwo extra preset copy ratios can be added within both the reduction range (50% to 99%) and the enlargement range (101% to 200%). Only added preset copy ratios can be changed. The standard preset copy ratios are fixed in memory and cannot be changed. When P24 is entered, the following message will appear.

P24: ADD OR CHANGE EXTRA PRESETS. PRESS EITHER THE REDUCTION OR ENLARGEMENT KEY.

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P25 Limit of Maximum Copies SelectedUse P25 to limit the maximum number of copies per copy run which can be input on the COPIES SELECTED display. When P25 is entered, the following message will appear.

P25: LIMIT OF MAXIMUM COPIES SELECTED. ENTER THE NUMBER AND PRESS START. 999

Input the number using the 10-key pad and press the START key.

P26 Initial Margin Shift SettingSet the initial margin shift value with this program. When P26 is entered, the following message will appear.

P27 Erase Width AdjustmentSet the initial amount of the erase area with this program. When P27 is entered, the following message will appear.

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P28 Initial Status SettingThe copier will assume the initial settings when it is turned on, when the CLEAR ALL key is pressed, or when the auto clear interval has elapsed after a copy run. Use P28 to establish the initial settings. When P28 is entered, the following message will appear.

P28: INITIAL STATUS SETTING. PROGRAM DESIRED INITIAL STATUS AND PRESS START.

To establish new initial settings1. Make all initial selections on the operation panel.q

The following functions can be set: original to copy mode, reduction/enlargement/zoom, exposure adjustments, erase, margin shift, tray select, and sort/staple sort mode (only if an optional sorter or staple sorter is installed).

P29 Total Copy CountProgram P29 is used to display or print the total copy counts of the copier, RADF, duplex module, and staple sorter. For printing the data, an optional counter commander SF-EA13 is needed. (See page 23 for instructions to print.) When P29 is entered, the following message will appear. P29: TOTAL COPY COUNT. 1.DISPLAY 2.PRINT

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P42 Right/Left Shift Direction SelectionThis program is used to determine if shift direction change is to be allowed when the CHANGE key is pressed. When P42 is entered, the following message will appear.

P42: RIGHT/LEFT SHIFT DIRECTION SELECTION. 1.YES 2.NO

Select either yes or no using the 10-key pad.

P43 Erase Mode SelectionThis program is used to set the initial mode for erase function. When P43 is entered, the following message will appear.

P43: ERASE MODE SELECTION. 1.EDGE 2.CENTER 3.EDGE+CENTER

Select the desired erase mode using the 10-key pad.

P44 Restrict Storage of Inserts in Job Program MemoryProgram P44 is used to prevent insert pages from being stored in job memory. When P44 is entered, the following message will appear.

To disable storing insert pages, press key 1. To enable storing insert pages, press key 2.

P45 Message Time SettingProgram P45 is used to adjust the length of message display time. When P45 is entered, the following message will appear.

P45: MESSAGE TIME SETTING. SET THE TIME FOR MESSAGES. (1 TO 12 SECONDS), PRESS START.

Set the time using the 10-key pad and press the START key.

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P46 Disable OperationProgram P46 is used to prevent operation of the copier. It will remain disabled until it is enabled by the key operator. When P46 is entered, the following message will appear.

P46: DISABLE OPERATION. 1.YES 2.NO

Select either yes or no using the 10-key pad.

P70 Disabling of Auto Paper SelectionProgram P70 is used to prevent automatic paper selection. When disabled, the copier will not automatically select a paper tray containing paper that matches the size of the originals placed in the RADF. When P70 is entered, the following message will appear.

P70: DISABLING OF AUTO PAPER SELECTION. 1.YES 2.NO

Select either yes or no using the 10-key pad.

P71 Disabling of Auto Tray SwitchingProgram P71 prevents automatic switching between the paper trays. When P71 is entered, the following message will appear.

To disable auto tray switching, press key 1. To restore auto tray switching, press key 2.

P72 Bypass-Tray Prohibited in Duplex CopyProgram P72 is used to disable the use of the bypass tray when making the duplex copies. When P72 is entered, the following message will appear.

P72: BYPASSTRAY PROHIBITED IN DUPLEX COPY. 1.YES 2.NO

Press key 1 or 2 for selection.

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P73 Disabling of Job Program ChangingProgram P73 is used to prevent stored programs from being altered. When P73 is entered, the following message will appear.

P73: DISABLING OF JOB PROGRAM CHANGING. 1.YES 2.NO

To prevent job programs stored in memory from being erased or altered, press key 1. To allow alteration, press key 2.

P74 Disabling of Document FeederProgram P74 is used to prevent the use of the RADF when it malfunctions. When P74 is entered, the following message will appear.

P74: DISABLING OF DOCUMENT FEEDER. 1.YES 2.NO

To prohibit the use of the RADF, press key 1. To enable the use of the RADF, press key 2.

P75 Disabling of Duplex CopyingProgram P75 is used to enable or disable the duplex system. If a malfunction occurs within the duplex system of the copier, the system can be disabled until it is serviced and operation is restored. The rest of the copier in the meantime will remain operable. When P75 is entered, the following message will appear.

To disable the duplex system, press key 1. To enable the duplex system, press key 2.

P76 Disabling of StaplerProgram P76 is used to enable or disable the stapler of the optional staple sorter. If the stapler malfunctions, it can be disabled to prevent further malfunction or possible damage to the stapler until it can be serviced. When P76 is entered, the following message will appear.

P76: DISABLING OF STAPLER. 1.YES 2.NO

To disable the stapler, press key 1. To enable the stapler, press key 2.

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P77 Disabling of Covers and InsertsProgram P77 is used to prevent the selection of COVERS and INSERTS modes. When P77 is entered, the following message will appear.

To disable the COVERS and INSERTS modes, press key 1. To restore the modes, press key 2.

P78 Restricted Access to Paper TraysProgram P78 is used to prevent access to the paper trays except when a tray is empty or needs to be opened for misfeed removal. When P78 is entered, the following message will appear.

P78: RESTRICTED ACCESS TO PAPER TRAYS. 1.YES 2.NO

To prohibit access to the paper trays, press key 1. To enable access to the paper trays, press key 2.

P90 Display the List of All P CodesProgram P90 is used to sequentially display all programs. A q mark next to a program number indicates that the program is in use. When P90 is entered, the following message will appear.

KEY OPERATOR PROGRAMS P92 P Code List PrintoutProgram P92 is used to print out the list of all programs. For printing the data, an optional counter commander SF-EA13 is needed. (See next page for instructions to print.) When P92 is entered, the following message will appear.

OPTIONAL COUNTER COMMANDER (SF-EA13)The counter commander SF-EA13 is equipped with a printer in order to print out audit data. The first line of any printed data will be the machine number. This number is factory set to be 00000. Use P17 to change the number from the factory setting.

Loading Printer PaperThe counter commander SF-EA13 is equipped with a printer in order to print out audit data. To insert paper:

Connect the counter commander to the copier. Open the printer cover. Push the left guide to the left with your thumb as shown in the figure and remove the paper holder. Insert the holder into the new printer paper.

Cut the lead of the printer paper so that the paper can be inserted easily. Set the printer paper into the counter commander. Be sure to set this in the proper direction.

Insert the lead of paper toward the paper outlet and press and hold the FEED key.q

Press and hold the FEED key until the paper emerges from the paper outlet.

Close the printer cover securely.

NOTE:q q

Use only specified printer paper. (Sharp Part No. SD-275PR) Do not expose the printer paper to high temperature, excessive humidity, or direct sunlight, as doing so could cause discolouration of the paper. Handle the printer paper with care. If perspiration or oils from your hands come in contact with the printing surface of the paper, printing may be faded or prevented completely. Store the printer paper in a dark place.

OPTIONAL COUNTER COMMANDER (SF-EA13)

For Printing Data through Key Operator ProgramsFor printing data through the key operator programs, Counter Commander SF-EA13 must be connected to the copier. If optional Card Counter SF-EA11 is installed, refer to corresponding manual for printing data through SF-EA11.

Open the right front door of the copier, lift the connector cover, and connect the counter commander cable to the copier with the arrow on the connector facing UP. Enter a key operator program from which printed data is required, and select print.q

The counter commander will start to print. Printing can be stopped or started as desired by pressing the START/STOP key.

Continue steps 3 and 4 for printing data for other programs. When printing of key operator programs has been completed, remove the counter commander cable from the copier, close the connector cover and close the copier.

Be sure to report the alphanumeric code information as well. This will enable the Service Centre to prepare to correct the malfunction associated with the code.
