Electronics Technology

CAREER OPPORTUNITIESStudents of Electronics Technology find rewarding careers in areas such as computer repair, industrial automation, residential and commercial wiring, copier and office equipment repair, and engineering.

THE PROGRAMElectronics are such an integral part of 21st century life that people seldom even think about it. We are surrounded by electronics: computers, automated systems, appliances, sounds systems and more. There is a steady need for Electronics Professionals and, currently, a shortage of Industrial Technicians.

Students in Electronics Technology combine theoretical classroom instruction and plenty of hands-on work, preparing students in skills for electronics, automation, and computer repair.

Students of Electronics Technology find rewarding careers in areas such as computer repair, industrial automation, residential and commercial wiring, copier and office equipment repair, and engineering. Requires 63 credit hours.

The Electronics Program is part of the Manufacturing Career Cluster: Planning, managing and performing the processing of materials into intermediate or final products and related professional and technical support activities such as production planning and control, maintenance and manufacturing/process engineering. ASSOCIATE IN APPLIED SCIENCE (A.A.S.) DEGREE REQUIREMENTS 1. Complete specific course and program requirements for A.A.S. degree as outlined in the Career/Occupational Programs section of the

catalog. Each curriculum identifies the specific course requirements needed to complete an A.A.S. degree.2. Meet the residency requirement: a minimum of 15 credit hours in 100/200 level Kishwaukee College course work, applicable to the degree,

for each degree earned.3. Fulfill the grade point average requirement of an overall 2.000 GPA in all required and elective course work applicable to the specific degree

program requirement.4. Resolve any incomplete grades in Kishwaukee College course work applicable to the degree. 5. Apply for graduation in the Student Services office or through myKC.
