Greetings good Populace,

August has come to a close and we are heading for cooler weather. As we head into the fall event season we would encourage all of you to get out and travel as much as you can and see our wonderful kingdom.  Our thanks to all who went to Laurels Prize and showed just what Eldern Hills can do. We also want to thank all who came out and helped build our new lockup, this will help save us some funds and allow us to get better stuff (big baronial pavilion).  This month we have International Festival on the 24- 25th and a small school demo as well, we ask that everybody helps when you can, where you can. Remember Samhain is just around the corner and lots of fun for all of us. Please  get your award recommendations in by the end of this month.

Greeting to all of Eldern Hills!!!

August was a fantastic month for Eldern Hills. We finally got our new baronial lock up set up! Thank you so much to everyone who came out and suffered the heat all day to construct the building and thank you to Gunnarr and Muirenn for letting us use there land and hospitality. The end of next month the barony will be participating in the Lawton Ft. Sill International Festival. Please, if you are interested in helping, all you have to do is ask or just show up I'm sure someone will be glad to put you to work LOL.  Remember to continue to stay cool and hydrated the heat has not gone from us quite yet.

A brief introduction… I am Lady Fionnghuala Ruadh inghean Li Choncobhair. Lady Fionn will do, “Hey You!!” works too. I will do your Hospitaler for the next two years.

As my first request, I am asking for donations for the newcomer’s drawings. Anything that had interested you at one time will certainly interest a newcomer! Please consider our newcomer when you look through your SCA gear.

Also as a new Hospitaler, I would love to hear any ideas to encourage our newcomers to stay with our wonderful hobby!

Another month has come and gone but the heat still seems to linger, the joy of living in Ansteorra. I have been busy this month preparing several submissions for eventual submission. There is no news to report from kingdom yet for those that have already submitted. I hope to plan another Heraldic Consultation night, but will wait until after International Festival to do so. Games and puppets are being prepared! So excited about children’s activities! Games for international fest. How to be a Knight demo! So busy! I have 3 tables for games at harvest fest (Samhaim). Greetings all,

Another month gone by and we still have many who have braved this blasted heat for some heavy combat.  I wanted to thank all those who volunteered to step up and make sure the practice continues while I am in school.   Also we have the International Fest coming up with which we will be having heavy combat in the List Field so for all those who want to participate, get your armor polished and your blade sharpened (taped).  There will be small practices on Sundays with me since there are a few who cannot make it to Wednesday's practices.   Other than that, be safe and make sure you keep yourselves hydrated out there and I will see you all on the field.

We had the duct table double class in August, turn out was rather light. I had several people contact me beforehand about it that had planned on going...
