EISTEDDFOD COMPETITIONS THE ROFFT SCHOOL 2017 TECHNOLOGY COMPETITIONS Computer Graphics: ‘The Future’ Original work based on the theme ‘The Future’, created on the computer and printed on paper. TECHNOLOGY COMPETITIONS

Computer Graphics: ‘The Future’ Original work based on the theme ‘The Future’, created on the computer and printed on paper. (This could be done using J2e, or a suitable drawing app)

ART COMPETITION: ‘A Welsh Creature’ All pupils will enter an art competition in their class. This is an additional ‘open’ competition where children have the independence to choose their own response to the theme ‘A Welsh Creature’. Entries can be in any medium, e.g. collage, pastels, crayon etc. and can depict an imaginary or real creature.

MUSIC COMPETITIONS

Dance

Individuals can perform one dance of their own choice, in any style.

The dance should be limited to 3 and a half minutes.

Competitors should register with their teacher on Monday 27 February.

The music track should be supplied by the competitor.

The competition will be held on Tuesday 28 February (pm) 16. Dance Solo - Year 2 and under 17. Dance Solo - Years 3 and 4 18. Dance Solo - Years 5 and 6

Singing

Individuals can sing one song of their own choice, in English or Welsh.

Competitors should register with their teacher on 27 February.

Notification should be given if a piano accompaniment is required.

A pre-recorded backing track can be used, provided by competitor.

The competition will be held on Tuesday 28 February (pm). 19. Vocal Solo - Years 2 and under 20. Vocal Solo - Years 3 a 4 21. Vocal Solo - Years 5 a 6

Instrumental Competitors should play one piece only of their choice.

WELSH LEARNER RECITATION

All children will be supported to learn the poem in class.

A recording of each poem will be available on the school website to support pronunciation.

3 Children will be chosen to perform on stage on Wednesday March 1st.

MARGARET’S LIBRARY BOOK REVIEW COMPETITION

Pupils are invited to write a review of a book by a Welsh author, or a book with a Welsh theme.

The winner of each category will be awarded a brand new book by a Welsh author.
