CDA Eindhoven will work in the coming years on making Eindhoven financially healthy again, better accessible and safe. To make Eindhoven a city where everyone feels at home. A city where we can live affordably, happily and with respect for each other’s values and beliefs. We will fight for a sustainable city that we can pass on to our children!

    CDA. Home in Eindhoven.

SafetyThroughout the years Eindhoven has become a‘big International city’. Unfortunately Eindhoven also faces the problems which all big cities have.In the last years our city has been in the top 3of the AD crime index. A safe communityrequires us to take hard measures. In order to make Eindhoven safer, we need more local police officers. The CDA wants to facilitate “NeighborhoodWatch Teams”, neighborhood-based teams, in order to involve communities in problem solving and crime prevention.

AccessibilityEindhoven is a city to be proud of. We are the fifth largest city in the country and our region is growingfast economically. To keep it this way, Eindhovenmust remain accessible. Important roads such as theVestdijk, crucial in making Eindhoven accessible bycar, cannot be closed. The (high)ways around Eindhoven must facilitatequick accessibility. Public transport must be mademore affordable. The CDA wants the construction of 4 large parking and ride lots (P+R’s) around the city where peoplecan park their cars and then travel to the city center by public transport. This way we keep Eindhoven livable, sustainable and accessible.

Sterke samenlevingStrong communityMany people have good ideas how to make theirneighborhood a better place and how to make this happen. Unfortunately, most of them hit a wall of bureaucracy at the municipality. Citizens, for instance, must start up an association to fill in a form for a neighborhoodbudget.

The municipality has to become a stimulating factor instead of an obstacle. Where matters might be arranged at neighborhood level, we want to give the citizens the opportunity to take self-initiatives.

Eerlijke economieValues & traditionsEindhoven is the city of innovation and design. But we do not forget that Eindhoven is morethan just that. Eindhoven has a rich history, that the CDA wants to make visible in a city-museum. Values and traditions are essential in keeping a community together. The municipality shouldsupport activities which are aimed at bringing groups of different backgrounds together and which make connections between people. That’swhy sports must be available for all people livingin Eindhoven. We want to reverse the budgetcuts made in recreational sports. Together weare Eindhoven.

Zorg voor elkaarCare for each otherWe take care with and for each other. The starting point is the personal strength and dignityof people. Patients go First. The CDA wants to strengthen home and community care. As the population ages this is an important matter. Care-organizations have to be efficient; professional care and support has to meet thewishes of people. This however must remainmanageable, therefore informal carers must bewell supported from the municipality. Therefore, daycare and respite care must be well organized to make sure that informal carershave time to take a step back and relax from time to time.
