Cri Du Chat, also known as Five P Minus, is a disorder in which the small arm on chromosome 5 is either deleted or transferred to another chromosome during the embryonic stage. 1 in 35,000 people are diagnosed with Cri
Du Chat. The most promi-nent feature of this diagnosis is the sound of the baby’s “cat-like” cry at birth. Other
Rxcommon symptoms include developmental delays; difficulty with language, walking and feeding; and weak muscle tone. Dr. Jérôme Lejeune discov-ered Cri Du Chat 50 years ago. Information and resources for families and children grow each year. There is no cure at this time; however, with the support of family and educational and medical professionals, those who have it can achieve their fullest potential living produc-tive, happy and fulfilling lives.

Eligibility is retained as long as the Servicemember maintains WA state residency. For more information go to http://apps.leg.wa.gov/documents/billdocs/2013-14/Pdf/Bill%20Re-ports/House/2363-S%20HBR%20PL%2014.PDF.
