Informed ConsentInformed consent of the patients must be takenbefore they are considered for participation in thestudy. Patient identifying information, such asnames, initials, hospital numbers, or photographsshould not be included in the written descriptions.Patient consent should be obtained in written andarchived with the authors.
Protection of Human Subjects and Animalsin ResearchWhen conducting experiments on humansubjects, appropriate approval must have beenobtained by the relevant ethics committees. Allthe procedures must be performed in accordancewith the ethical standards of the responsibleethics committee both (institutional and national)on human experimentation and the HelsinkiDeclaration of 1964 (as revised in 2008). Whenreporting experiments on animals, authors mustfollow the institutional and national guidelines forthe care and use of laboratory animals.
Following guidelines must be followed beforesubmission of the manuscript:
The articles must represent original researchmaterial, should not have been published before,and should not be under consideration ofpublication else where. This however does notinclude previous publications in form of anabstract or as part of published literature (reviewor thesis). It is the duty of the author to obtain thenecessary permissions for extensive quotations,tables, illustrations, or any other copyrightedmaterial they are using in the paper before a papercan be considered for publication. Copyright ofthe article gets transferred to Jaypee Brothers,once the article has been accepted forpublication. The author would be asked to signthe “Copyright Transfer Form” before his/herarticle is considered for publication. Once theCopyright Transfer statement has been signedby the corresponding author, no change inauthorship or in the order of the authors listed onthe article would be accepted by Jaypee Brothers.Also by signing the above mentioned form, theauthor reassigns the rights of copublishing, ortranslation if considered necessary in future tothe publisher. It is the aim of this journal to provide platform formembers to have access to scientific and peerreviewed clinically oriented guidelines for practiceand professional updating of subject of obstetricsand gynecology.
The scope of SAFOG journal is to cover thebroad subject of obstetrics and gynecology andgive out articles, information, and practiceguidelines. The journal has fixed format of reviewarticles, presentations as original studies bymembers and readers, operative skill reviews,case reports, and midwifery peer reviewedpractice guidelines. In addition, call upon expertsand clinical authorities among member countriesof SAFOG region to give out Editorials on policyformulating topics such as maternal mortality,abortions, contraceptives, reproductive healthpreservation of women, etc. As well to tabulatereproductive health country specific data to createawareness regarding the enormity of maternaland neonatal problems. To give out readerspecific information for forthcoming professionalevents in the region. It remains a platform forbetter communication and exchange ofreproductive indices among member countries.Also to amalgamate with world bodies,recommendations for practice guidelines formembers.Brief of the Journal: The SAFOG journal is theofficial organ and publication of South AsiaFederation of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Thisis a scientific and peer reviewed platform ofexchange of professional activities, clinicalpractice guidelines, operative skill updates, andnursing midwifery practices among membercountries. The journal has come out with two ofits issues. These are high in professional contentand have been liked within the fraternity. We arealso providing a complementary audio-visualDVD with each issue, inculcating practices andoperative guidelines.
