Glenn 2:53 PM I learn from 2018 and 2019 //// I did what Bob has been teaching me for a while, roll and protect your profits. Have been doing that with the calls many times on this run up.Today, initiated Put Protection and rolled my SPY puts three times. Then sold some lower strike puts, but only a portion. This way I can collect premium, but if the index runs down fast. I will have some puts uncovered.In one day my put protection is full paid for, with a small gain. Maintaining a level of protection if market moves lower. Hope this can help someone. This is is what has worked for me in the past.

Charles L 3:06 PM RE: the "don't be a deer in the headlights, move your feet" part, excellent advice Bob. I have to smack myself sometimes or the market will smack me!A bit of my personal experience. I came in this morning with 80% cash, loaded up with calls very quickly and was at 50% cash, and still had what I thought was a worthless tw SPY 350p from earlier in the week. I mean, I was being rewarded with profit on calls bought shortly after the open! That early impression turned out to be very deceptive. Well, we all know where spy eventually went this morning. Funny thing is, I didn't make most of my money on the 350p. At some point it was up nicely and I sold it at what now seems like an insanely cheap price ~1.70, but after realizing what was actually going on in the market as it unfolded I bought more puts at higher strikes closer to the money for more delta, and as with Glenn, I rolled down 2 or 3 times. That decision saved me. I'd also like to point out my mistake with BA and how I could have done better by following my game plan. You might recall, I made a post earlier that "BA was testing (new?) support." Well, it didn't pass the test. I should have thrown out the trade when that happened. I didn't lose a fortune, but could have saved at least $200 when I knew the

support that I was expecting wasn't there anymore. We all want to give our ideas the room to breath a bit, but there's a difference between hanging in there and being stubborn.

You have to decide whether they are going to hold, or trade thru support/resistance. No guarantees here. But, I draw these lines on my charts and leave them there, surprised how many times they show up as significant, sometimes days or months later.
