Our creations are inspired by nature, with a feeling of freedom. If your home is fi tted out with some bionic furniture, your relationship with your furniture might be more affective. Each of our pieces has its own name: DIVA is the ostrich console, SULTAN is the dog stool, ZELDA is Sultan’s cousin, OWEN is the sheep table, JOE is the polar bear, and so on. In fact, we live and work on the edge of a forest with ponds and many animals around us. Animals are part of our life and work. For the general coherence of this line, it was essential to get both top and legs in the same material. The animal shape has something precious and these pieces of furniture look as they were walking. We like the proportion between the thinness of the legs and the volume of the body. These pieces combines a physical presence, the feeling of moving and a strong personality.

Nuestras creaciones están inspiradas por la naturaleza, y aportan sensación de libertad. Si tu casa está amueblada con mobiliario biónico, tu relación con los muebles será más afectiva. Todas nuestras piezas tienen su propio nom-bre: DIVA es la consola avestruz, SULTAN es el taburete perro, ZELDA es el primo de Sultan, OWEN es la mesa oveja, JOE es el oso polar, etc. De hecho, vivimos y trabajamos en los límites de un bosque con estanques y muchos animales a nuestro alrededor. Los animales forman parte de nuestra vida y nuestro traba-jo. Para que esta línea fuera coherente, era importante que la parte superior y las piernas fueran del mismo material. La forma animal tiene algo de especial y estos muebles parecen andar. Nos gusta especialmente la proporción entre el grosor de las piernas y el volumen del cuerpo. Estas piezas combinan la presencia física, la sensación de movimiento y una fuerte personalidad.

In the Icelandic myths, seals are believed to be condemned by humans. One ancient story from the south of Iceland is about a farmet who early one morning fi nds a sealpelt lying on the beach. In a cave nearby, he hears vioces and music. He takes the sealpelt home and hides it in a woodenchest. Few days later he returns to the beach and fi nds a crying, naked, young woman sitting on a rock. He brings her to his house where she stays, but he never tells her about the pelt. As time goes by they get married and have children. But the young woman is restless and often stares quietly out of the window at the ocean. One day when the farmer goes fi shing, his wife accidentally fi nds the key of the chest, opens it and discovers the missing pelt. She takes leave of her children, puts the pelt on and before she dives into the ocean she says: “I am vary anxious, with seven children on land an seven in the sea.” She never comes back but the farmer misses her terribly. Later when he goes fi shing there often is a seal near his boat and its eyes are fi lled with tears. It is said that the farmer becomes a very lucky fi sherman. And when his children play at the beach there often is a seal swimming close to land. Sometimes it brings them beautiful stones and colorful fi shes. But their mother never returned.

Según la mitología islandesa, se cree que las focas están condenadas por los humanos. Una antigua historia del sur de Islandia cuenta que, una mañana temprano, un granjero encuentra la piel de una foca en la playa. En una cueva cercana, oye voces y música. El hombre se lleva la piel a casa y la esconde en un baúl de madera. Unos días más tarde, vuelve a la playa y se encuentra con una joven desnuda y llorando sentada en una roca. El granjero la lleva a su casa, donde ella se queda, pero nunca le explica nada sobre la piel. Con el paso del tiempo, se casan y tienen hijos, pero la joven mujer se siente intranquila y a menudo se queda mirando silenciosamente el océano por la ventana. Un día, cuando el granjero se va a pescar, la mujer encuentra por casualidad la llave del baúl, lo abre y descubre la piel desaparecida. La joven se despide de sus hijos, se pone la piel por encima y antes de sumergirse en el océano, dice: «Estoy muy angustiada porque tengo siete hijos en la tierra y siete en el mar». Ella no regresa nunca y el granjero la echa muchísimo de menos. Más tarde, cuando se va a pescar, se topa con una foca con los ojos llenos de lágrimas junto a su barca. Se dice que el granjero se convirtió en un pescador muy afortunado y, cuando sus hijos juegan en la playa, a menudo se ve una foca nadando cerca de la orilla. En ocasiones, les trae piedras hermosas y peces de colores, pero su madre nunca volvió.

The Taga initiative started in 2005, when a grandfather was looking for a way to take his grandchildren easily and safely, indoors and out, while having fun with them on the way and not harming the environment.Inspired by traditional Dutch cargo bikes and modern strollers, he built a quick prototype and took it for a ride. Though not so impressive, the prototype was a huge success among his grandchildren and neighbors.The international team has conducted a research among families and retailers in several countries and understood that the perfect solution should have all the features of a bike and a stroller, should be safe, easy to operate, fun to use and should enhance the relations between the parent and the child. Many parents thought that it could be a real eco-friendly substitute to using a car in the city, especially if it can be taken on public transportation.

La iniciativa Taga empezó en el año 2005, cuando un abuelo discurría la manera de llevar a sus nietos de una forma fácil y segura, tanto en zonas interiores como exteriores, a la vez que se divierte con ellos sin perjudicar el medio ambiente.Inspirándose en las tradicionales bicicletas de reparto holandesas y en los cochecitos modernos, construyó un prototipo ligero y se lo llevó de paseo. Aunque no resultó ser tan impactante, el prototipo tuvo muchísimo éxito entre sus nietos y vecinos.Un equipo internacional ha llevado a cabo un estudio entre familias y comerciantes de distintos países y ha llegado a la conclusión de que la solución perfecta debería incluir todas las características presentes en una bicicleta y en un cochecito, tendría que ser seguro, fácil de manejar, divertido a la hora de utilizarlo y debería mejorar la relación entre los padres e hijos. Muchos padres pensaron que podría ser un verdadero sustituto ecológico del coche en la ciudad, especialmente si se puede llevar en el transporte público.

To tell a tale, to watch the birds on the electricity and telephone wires... The idea something very interesting –a story worth telling or something interesting to see– must be on the wire to attract so many birds to this place. From here stems the idea of a collection which involves individuals participating in a story or interacting between themselves and the user, to generate this interesting situation.

De contar una historia, de observar a los pájaros en los cables de luz y de teléfono... La idea de que algo muy interesante -una historia digna de escucharse o algo muy atractivo para ver- debe existir en el cable para llamar a tantos pájaros a este lugar. De ahí sale la idea de una colección que tiene personajes que participan de una historia, o que al interactuar entre si y con el usuario, generan esta situación interesante.

There is no other place where requirements change so quickly as in a children´s room. From the parents’ perspective contanimant-free or even health-improving materials make sense, because it takes care of their most prized : Their children. The vernacular once defi ned the three goals of man: „Building a house, have children and plant a tree.“ So why not kill two birds with one stone by creating something wholesome for man and environment. The cradle consists out of a completely decomposable material which can be returned to the biological cycle. Additionally it has been cased in pressed seed-panels. After around 8 month of putting the baby to sleep in the cradle it is time for a more spatious bed. The cradle instead of being thrown away is brought into the garden where after watering well it will grow into a bed of fl owers. Being a good role-model for the coming generations could be this easy and return the products back to nature as nourishment.

No hay otro lugar en el que las necesidades cambian tan rápidamente como en la habitación de los niños. Desde el punto de vista de los padres, los materiales no contaminantes o incluso favorables para la salud son convenientes porque cuidan de lo más valioso para ellos: sus hijos. La lengua vernácula una vez defi nió los tres objetivos del hombre: «Construir una casa, tener hijos y plantar un árbol». Así que, ¿por qué no matar dos pájaros de un tiro creando algo benefi cioso tanto para el hombre como para el medio ambiente? La cuna está hecha de un material que se descompone por completo y que puede devolverse al ciclo biológico. Además, se ha construido con paneles de semillas prensadas. Tras ocho meses durmiendo en la cuna, llega el momento de que el bebé tenga una cama más espaciosa. La cuna, en lugar de tirarla, se lleva al jardín donde, después de regarla bien, crecerá una cama de fl ores. Ser un buen modelo para las próximas generaciones podría ser así de fácil a la vez que el producto se devuelve a la naturaleza en forma de nutriente.

The intent being that the usefulness of the piece will last throughout all of the childhood years.
