Jump Start Dual Enrollment Mission
The mission of the Jump Start Dual Enrollment program is to create a community of learners within the high school who have decided that college coursework is an option for them. Jacksonville State University Dual Enrollment JUMP START Program
At JSU, we don't penalize our high-achieving students that take additional dual
enrollment hours in regards to first-time freshman scholarships. We have had several
students who have received scholarships and have completed from 21-30+ hours of DE.
Often, these students have one semester of general ed requirements before starting
their programs (i.e., nursing, applied engineering, etc.). This opens more opportunity in
their schedule for them to take additional courses (like our J-STEAM FREE offerings,
etc.).
Jacksonville State University Dual Enrollment J-STEAM Program
***The mission of the J-STEAM program is to offer high-level science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) courses to high school students in JSU's service region. The J-STEAM program is sponsored by a grant that allows student tuition and course related costs to be completely free!***
***J-STEAM is a program with limited availability. Students will be selected based on the date of their application.***
*** Students enrolled in J-STEAM courses will be awarded tuition and book scholarships to cover those specific courses. Students may also apply for Jump Start Dual Enrollment Scholarships to cover courses taken outside of the J-STEAM program.***
