Dual Enrollment Checklist A dual enrollment course is a class that is offered on your high school campus, during the high school day, for which you can receive both high school and college credit. In order to receive college credit for the course, you must complete each of the steps below. STEP 1 – Verify with your instructor or counselor that you are in a course that is eligible for dual enrollment. STEP 2 – To get credit from Bakersfield College, you must complete a Bakersfield College application and obtain a BC ID number. To complete this application, you will need the following: Your full legal name and date of birth as they appear on your Birth Certificate Your current home address Your Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number *IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A BC ID NUMBER, you will need to log in to Inside BC and complete an Update Form for the current term. www.bakersfieldcollege.edu > InsideBC > MyBanWeb > Update Form STEP 3 – Complete the attached “Application for High School Student Enrollment” form. This form must: Have the same full legal name that you listed on your Bakersfield College application. Have your BC ID number (@00######) Be signed by both you and your parent/guardian. List ALL Bakersfield College courses that you plan to take during this term. Be signed by a school official (counselor or administrator) at your high school. STEP 4 – Return your completed “Application for High School Student Enrollment” form to the instructor of your dual enrollment course. STEP 5 – Verify that you are registered in the course by logging into your Inside BC account. www.bakersfieldcollege.edu > InsideBC > MyBanWeb > Class Schedule If your course(s) is not appearing on your class schedule, please notify your instructor immediately. If you are not enrolled, you will not receive college credit. STEP 6 – Monitor your course grade. Poor grades will impact your college transcript and your financial aid eligibility.     All information must be completed by the student with signatures from the student, a parent/guardian, and a K-12

    school official. For Dual Enrollment, return this form to your instructor. For Concurrent Enrollment, email your signed form to [email protected] from your Bakersfield College student email account.     Student Agreement and Authorization

    I agree to abide by all rules and regulations of Bakersfield College, and authorize the release of academic and Code of Conduct information

    to the high school. I hereby release you from any and all liability or damages for providing the information requested. Enrollment fees are

    waived for special admit high school students. Student must pay all other fees, which include non-resident fee, material fees, health fee,

    student center fees, student representative fee, SGA sticker (optional), parking permit (optional).

    High school students are limited to part time status only. Fall and Spring Semester – no more than 11 units, Summer Semester – no more than 7 units. High

    school students may not enroll in remedial (non-transferable) Math or English courses, or in PE courses.
