ROTARY VANE VACUUM PUMP WORKING PRINCIPLE

A rotor(2) is eccentrically positioned in the pump cylindrical hous-ing(1). Free moving vanes(4) are inserted into numerous rotor slots(3), when the rotor turns, the centrifugal force throws the vanes against the cylindrical wall, creating a chamber between the rotor and cylinder. As the rotor continues to turn, the chamber volume, between blades, keeps changing due to the eccentrically positioned rotor. From in-let(5) to outlet(6) port, the chamber volume will become bigger and then smaller. When the chamber volume becomes bigger, a vacuum is produced from the rotation of vanes. Thus air enters the chamber from the inlet port. When the chamber volume becomes smaller, due to air compressed, pressure is produced at the outlet port.
