COIMBATORE- 641046 The DRDO-BU-CLS was established as a joint venture by DRDO, Bharathiar University and the Government of Tamil Nadu at Bharathiar University campus. The centre was established with the

objective to engage in advance areas of research in life sciences and multidisciplinary areas which are relevant to defence. The center has very good infrastructure with high end analytical instrumentation facilities, well equipped laboratories for multidisciplinary research. Applications are invited from young and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellows (JRF) and Research Associates as per details given below :

Desirable: Preference shall be given to those who have qualified in CSIR/NET/UGC/GATE

examination. *The number of vacancies subject to change (a) UGC-CSIR NET qualified candidates will be paid fellowship as per permissible rules. Non NET qualified candidates will be paid consolidated fellowship. Research Associate shall be paid Rs. 24, 000/-per month consolidated.

(b) The age limit for JRF and RA is maximum of 28 years and 30 years respectively as on last date for receipt of application. The age is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. (c) Selection will be through Written Exam / interview of shortlisted candidates. The date will be intimated to them.

General Conditions:

1. Only candidates who have completed the course and awarded degree/provisional certificate are eligible to apply for JRF position. However, the candidates appearing for final year M.Sc. are also eligible to apply . JRF position shall be awarded only after the candidate has received the provisional certificate for the M.Sc. degree.

2. Candidates who have completed their PhD are eligible to apply for Research Associateship position. Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis and awaiting viva-voce may also apply but Associateship will be offered only on production of provisional Ph.D certificate.

3. The selected candidates for JRF may be allowed to register for PhD with University during the tenure of fellowship.

7. Candidates will be required to produce all certificates/testimonials, community certificate, if applicable, in original during interview. They must also bring a set of attested Photocopies of all testimonials along with two recent color passport size photographs (other than the one pasted on the application form) during interview.

8. The tenure of JRF will be initially for a period of 3 years. The tenure of Research Associate (RA) shall be for 3 years only.

9. The fellowship does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO under any circumstances.

10. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining, if selected.
