Dr Simon Hutabarat

Dr Simon Hutabarat MBBS (Hons), BSc, FRACS (Orth), FAOrthA is an Orthopaedic Surgeon and a member of both the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr Hutabarat completed his medical degree at the University of NSW and his Orthopaedic training in Sydney. He has spent a year on Fellowship in Hands and Arthroplasty (Upper and Lower limb) in Great Britain and the United States.

Dr Hutabarat has worked locally as a VMO Orthopaedic Surgeon for many years in private practice, with consulting rooms at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital. Simon performs surgery regularly at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital, Gosford Private Hospital and Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospital. He also has a vast number of publications in textbooks and journals.

Dr Hutabarat became interested in computer navigated knee replacements 15 years ago and has used the computer navigation system exclusively over the past 10 years. He has been an instructor at Computer Navigated Knee Replacement Courses in Perth and in Sydney. He has also spent time in Germany and France perfecting the technique. He had used the anterior approach for hips over the past 10 years.

Dr Hutabarat’s areas of expertise and interest include: – Hand – Knee Surgery – Joint Replacement – Shoulder.

Dr Hutabarat works at Brisbane Waters Private, Gosford Private and Tuggerah Lakes Private Hospitals and has consulting rooms at Brisbane Waters Private Hospital, Lake Munmorah Health Specialists and Mariners Medical for the convenience of all patients on the Central Coast.
