greatness never ends3rd GAWAD BALISONG AWARDING CEREMONY

What makes the 3rd GAWAD BALISONG different from the

awarding ceremonies of the previous years? What makes it unique from other awarding rites?

This year’s PARANGAL like those of the past was well- prepared and organized. The different committees assigned for this affair functioned efficiently for its success. There was a smooth coordination of every one.

Another salient aspect of this awarding was the preliminary activity done in screening the best employees. The candidates had their PowerPoint presentation of their best outputs and accomplishments. They also underwent rigid interview under the panel

of interviewers, Dr. Francis Ceasar Bringas, ARD; Dr. Carlito D. Rocafort, our SDS; Dr. Elenita Bathan and Dr. Florencia Dela Pena, both former ASDS of Batangas Province.

Moreover, the nominees from the four (4) areas for each award all marched on the aisle going upstage. From the nominees, one will receive the prestigious BALISONG Award.

As one enters the hall, he/she will be mesmerized by the elegant colorful flowers on stage and the fabulous gowns and formal attires of the nominees.

Another distinct feature of the year’s BALISONG Award is the recognition of the Best School-to-School Partnership Program and additional special awards like Campus Journalism and Loyalty Awards.

This GAWAD BALISONG is an event a Batangueño Educator can

be proud of. Attended by dignitaries from DepED – Region IV-A CALABARZON Director Diosdado San Antonio, Assistant Regional Director Francis Ceasar Bringas and Asec. Revsee A. Escobedo of Service and Project Management Human Resource and Development of Dep ED-Central Office.

Who's present in GAWAD BALISONG?

Members of different committees in Gawad Balisong gather at Lima Hotel function room for a general rehearsal two days before the event, Aug. 16, 2017. DOMCAR C. LAGTO

from Batangas Province High School for Culture & Arts.

As representative of Hon. Gov. Hermilando Mandanas, Mrs. Merlita Pasatiempo gave her message. She received the BALISONG plaque of appreciation for Batangas Province.

An inspirational message was rendered by Regional Director Dr. Diosdado M. San Antonio who quoted, “Hanga ako sa mga Batangueno! Binabati ko ang Sangay ng Batangas sa pagkakaroon ng ganitong parangal. Congratulations to the winners. As nominees, you are all winners!”

As an epitome of strong leadership and integrity, Dr. Carlito D. Rocafort

acknowledged and greeted the people who spent sleepless nights for the preparation of this event. He mentioned the different cultural identities of Batangas which includes BALISONG from which the acronym was formed for this symbolic award. He congratulated and encouraged everyone to continue being heroes to the students entrusted to their hands.
