To increase DPC members’ participation in the life of the church and retire the 2009 construction/renovation debt. In 2014, gifts to Forward Together! exceeded budget by $247,000 allowing us to reduce the length of the loan on Andrew’s Hall by an addi-tional 16 months to a total of 60 months. To date with have raised $3,298,533 including $85,000 paid by the general fund. We still have a $3 million debt requiring a $26,000 monthly payment. This five-year campaign is nearing the completion of its third year.

Events like the Mardi Gras, Ghosts in the Graveyard, HEARTSapalooza, Oklahoma Barn Sale and Social, and the

ongoing DPC Scrip program, are important. They offer opportunities for us to get together, have fun, and raise money that is used to reduce our debt. We encourage you and thank you for continuing to look for for ways that together we can increase involvement of others.

Our DPC family is very special and the more our members get involved with the life of the church, the more likely we

will together find new and better ways to satisfy this debt. With that accomplished, we can best use our wonderful physical facilities to reach out to the community and continue to pursue our mission … to be a bridge for Christ and a beacon of his love.

About Aldie Mansion Aldie Mansion began its history as a beloved private residence. Commissioned by William and Martha Mercer as an ode to the English Tudor Manor, this stately 1927 mansion evokes a time in America when craftsmanship reached an art form. Under the watchful gaze of the Aldie gargoyles, intricate brickwork, vintage leaded glass, antique tiles, and charming garden ornaments have been faithfully preserved as part of bucks County’s unique heritage. The Mercers were renowned hosts during their years at Aldie, and they regularly welcomed international luminaries into their home. As you stroll about, it is easy to recall the spirited evenings when Groucho Marx joked at the dinner table. Isadora Duncan pirouetted in the garden, and the Von Trapp family caroled in the Great Hall. An invitation to Aldie meant an affair to remember. Today, through the preservation efforts of Heritage Conservancy, Aldie extends its legacy of grandeur and hospitality to us. Text taken from the Aldie website: www.aldiemansion.com

This gathering is the latest moment of celebration emanating from the decision by our members in 2009 to enhance the ministry of DPC through major facility improvements. The enhancements to our sanctuary strengthen our worship; the bridge is a favorite gathering spot; the nursery is a place of love for children and their parents. Our improved campus is welcoming and flexible, up-to-date and secure, giving us new opportunities for fellowship, education, and service. Even tonight, we are hosting Code Blue, ensuring that homeless neighbors have a warm place to sleep during this challenging winter. We could not have offered this gift before the renovation. So, have fun tonight as we gather to celebrate and continue to move Forward Together! Your presence here is only the latest blessing to our congregation. And I give thanks for it and the One behind it all.

Faithfully yours,

Dear Friends,

The Rev. Dr. John M. Willingham

We thank the Forward Together! Team and

volunteers for arranging and presenting

this fun-filled evening!

Jerry Blavat, also known as "The Geator with The Heater" and the Boss with the Hot Sauce," is an American disc jockey and performer who has been a major influence in promoting oldies music on the radio. A Philadelphia icon, he gained local fame hosting live dances in the area, leading to his own independent radio show, on which he broke many acts in the 1960s, including the Four Seasons and the

Isley Brothers.

In 1993, Blavat was inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance's Hall of Fame. In 1998, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of a permanent exhibit in its Museum of Radio and Records. In 2002, he was inducted into the Broadcast

Pioneers of Philadelphia's "Hall of Fame."

We welcome Jerry this evening, and thank him for helping us have a wonderful, fun-filled Mardi Gras celebration!

Tonight’s buffet has been prepared by industry leaders, Jeffrey A. Miller Catering. The business was born in 1980 as a brunch-in-bed school project by founder Jeff Miller, then a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania. While studying entrepreneurship during the school year, Jeff used his summers to train in some of the best kitchens in the

world, working in New York, London, and a Michelin three-starred restaurant in the south of France.

The attention to food quality and service that made these restaurants great is what inspired Jeff to try to reinvent catering, transforming an old style of boring, cookie-cutter banquet food into a unique culinary experience. This spirit guides the kitchen and all aspects of the company today. What started as a one-man band is today a complex organi-zation with more than 40 full time employees. They proudly serve as caterer for many of the region’s finest venues,

including Tyler Arboretum, Aldie Mansion, Anthony Wayne House, Racquet Club of Philadelphia,

James A. Michener Art Museum, Audubon Arboretum, Waterloo Village, and Dixon Mansion.
