Qtum Full Nodes Incentive Program Tutorial This tutorial will show how to install Qtum-Qt, the desktop GUI Qtum Core wallet, and register for the Full Nodes Program. Please follow the steps presented here and if you have any issues/questions, please reach out to our community support channels (Telegram, Discord, and WeChat).

Windows

Download the wallet installation file Open https://qtumeco.io/wallet and choose your Windows version, Win64 for 64-bit computers or Win32 for 3- bit computers.

Install and launch the wallet

1. Double-click the downloaded .exe file, and then select “Next”, “Next”, “Install”, “Next” until the installation finishes:

2. Select “Finish” to finish the installation and launch the wallet:

3. On the “Welcome” page, leave the button set on "use the default data directory” and select “OK” to continue launching the wallet:

The default Qtum data directory is C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Qtum

Copy the receiving address You can use the wallet receiving address to enter for receiving prizes, or any other Qtum address you control from another wallet. To use the address from this new wallet: 1. Select “Window” – “Receiving addresses…” 2. Click on the address to use (there will only be one for new wallets) to highlight with a blue background. 3. Select “Copy” to copy the address to your clipboard:

4. Close the Receiving addresses window. You can also register addresses from other wallets, such as the Qtum Web wallet.

Create and edit the configuration file The wallet configuration file “qtum.conf” will hold the Full Nodes registration information. To create and edit this file, follow these steps. 1. Select “Settings” – “Options…” to open the Options page:

2. Select the “Open Configuration File” button:

3. Tell Windows to use the Notepad editor. On the Configuration options popup, click on “OK”, and on the How do you want to open this file popup “More apps”, “ Notepad”, and “OK”:

4. In the Notepad editor, enter these two lines, pasting in the receiving address that was copied to the clipboard above. uacomment= QXU6eQwmZM15hqzAL8ifnYC7Y5yrwymkqX

addnode=qtum5.dynu.net

Note: The address here should be your address for accepting the rewards, for this example, the address is QXU6eQwmZM15hqzAL8ifnYC7Y5yrwymkqX:

5. On Notepad select “File” – “Save” and close Notepad. 6. Exit the wallet using “File” – “Exit”, and then restart the wallet so it can read the new configuration file on startup.

Check if the registration is successful After 10 – 15 minutes you can enter your Qtum address on the website to see if your node is registered and online. If so, the registration has succeeded, if not, please check the previous steps. For the CAPTCHA enter the sum of the two numbers, for example, if the CAPTCHA was 7 + 8, enter 15. You may check the node status from either of the pages shown below: On the Qtum Galaxy home page at https://galaxy.qtum.org/ success will show “All nodes are online”:

The Qtum Galaxy Check page gives some more information at https://galaxy.qtum.org/check and success will show a green checkmark:

Mac

Download the wallet installation file Download the Qtum installation file. Openhttps://qtumeco.io/wallet and choose the Mac version.

Install and launch the wallet 1. Double-click on the downloaded file “qtum-0.18.3…dmg” to open the image file. 2. Drag the “Qtum Core” icon to the right “Application” folder to install.

3. Go to the Applications folder and right-click (or Control-click) on the Qtum icon and select “Open” to launch the wallet:

4. On the Welcome page, leave the button set to use the default data directory and select “OK” to launch the wallet:

The Mac default Qtum data directory is /Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/Qtum

2. Paste the following line into the Terminal and type the Enter key (Note, this is a single line as shown in the image below):

touch ~/Library/Application\ Support/Qtum/qtum.conf && open -t

~/Library/Application\ Support/Qtum/qtum.conf

3. Paste the following two lines into the editor. Note: You can use the receiving address copied above. This example uses the address QXU6eQwmZM15hqzAL8ifnYC7Y5yrwymkqX uacomment= QXU6eQwmZM15hqzAL8ifnYC7Y5yrwymkqX

addnode=qtum5.dynu.net

4. On the editor select “File” – “Save” to save the file and then “Exit” to close the editor. 5. Exit the wallet using “Qtum Core” – “Quit Qtum Core”, and then restart the wallet so it can read the new configuration file on startup.

Linux

Download the wallet installation file 1. Download the wallet tar file. Using terminal enter: wget https://s.qtum.site/wallet/desktop/qtum-0.18.2-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz

Alternatively, for the Linux GUI, you can download this same file from for Qtum Core Linux on https://qtumeco.io/wallet and unzip.

Install and launch the wallet 1. Run the following commands to unzip the file and change to the “bin” directory. tar xvf qtum-0.18.3-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz

cd qtum-0.18.3/bin

2. Launch the wallet by entering ./qtum-qt

3. On the Welcome page, leave button set for the default Qtum data directory and click “OK” to continue launching the wallet.

The default Qtum data directory for Linux is /home/<user name>/.qtum

You can enter cat ~/.qtum/qtum.conf to view the file, it should appear as shown below.

3. Exit the wallet using “File” – “Exit”, and then restart the wallet so it can read the new configuration file on startup using ./qtum-qt

Check if the registration is successful

Precautions 1. You must run the latest version 0.18.3 or later of the Qtum Core wallet https://qtumeco.io/wallet. 2. All nodes must stay online and be able to provide blockchain data.

3. You can check the status here. It’s updated every 10 - 15 minutes.
