6/06 – 12/28/2015 Senior Solutions Architect GSA (Global Strategy and Architecture) Main responsibilities: Operate in a consultative capacity to develop architecture standards, validate proposed solutions, create application and infrastructure specifications, and implement architectural governance for Treasury Services Technology, Channel Technology, and Service Fulfillment Operations lines of business.

Designed, built, and instantiated a team that implemented a holistic design solution for implementing our UX/UI reference architecture. This team is responsible for operating the design process using agile methodologies and open source development toolsets to create a state of the art UX/UI platform for all of Global Wholesale Banking. Responsibilities of this team also include architecture governance, operational and process training, talent selection and retention, and future tools evaluation/maintenance.

Developed and maintained Reference Architectures, Frameworks, and Strategies for our entire commercial banking online footprint as well as cash management and transportation, healthcare, lockbox, payments, and our entire Latin American footprint. These efforts generally required detailed analysis of complicated systems with varied technologies, code bases, and support methods. Recommendations from these analyses were used to fund initiatives that drove our architecture towards the target state.

Developed the target state architecture for the lockbox transformation program which was responsible for implementing innovative solutions in order to drive 90 million dollars in operational and technical cost saves. In this instance I was asked to embed myself in the project team and operate as a team member, applied architect, and solutions architect which was well beyond the normal scope for my role. I was involved in product selection via a rigorous RFP process as well as prototyping and integrating a new technology with no precedent in financial services anywhere.

Developed and implemented the target state solution for HealthLogic (a subsidiary of Bank of America) that manages the healthcare payments process. In its initial state the solution was poorly built and integrated and not capable of scaling to enterprise level. Using the capabilities of a large shared services model, we were able to rebuild this suite of applications to include OCR and lockbox capabilities as well as payments matching of EOBs in a way that allowed the business partners to grow their product with an almost unlimited capacity. All of this was accomplished while enforcing strict HIPAA compliance.

Lead a Rich Internet Application proof of concept that evaluated two java frameworks (RichFaces and IceFaces) for the CashPro Online portal application. Developed evaluation criteria that quantitatively and qualitatively scored the solutions based on meeting business requirements, development community support, extensibility, scalability, security, and other architectural capabilities. This analysis included coding screens from a RIA catalog compiled from the business requirements and included the appraisal of supporting java toolkits (Dojo, jQuery, OBIEE, Flex) for specific use cases.

Served as the chairman of the Architecture Review Board (ARB). Escalating significant/urgent requests to the enterprise ARB was also my responsibility.

Created an innovative solution for optical character recognition for the payee name on checks. This payee name was captured and stored for retrieval by either a voice response unit or online banking. A prototype was developed and a patent has been applied for with me listed as an inventor.

6/05 – 6/06 SA (Solutions Architect) TST (Transaction Services Technology)

Main responsibilities: Manage technology resources and drive projects from idea generation and prioritization through business requirements development. This includes creation and maintenance of all technology project deliverables.

Acted in a pre-sales capacity for multiple line of business domains (Cash, Fulfillment, ATM, and eChannel) by selling new ideas and generating work for the technology teams. Drove technology architecture towards out 3-5 year strategy.

Managed the NW TrX project in order to align our architecture better with our 3-5 year architecture strategy. The key benefits to the architecture were sun-setting redundant applications, simplification of our GL system, and realigning NW applications to the standard platform for transaction routing and settlement.

Developed the technology blueprint used to update our 3-5 year architecture strategy. Brought together all technology teams in Treasury and Payments Services Technology (T&PST) to refine and adopt our strategy.

2/04 – 6/05 TDM (Technology Delivery Manager) TST (Transaction Services Technology)Main responsibilities: Manage large technology projects for the core banking systems (Check Processing, Float, Transaction Management, Fleet merger.) It was also the first application in TST developed entirely with Global Delivery Center (GDC) resources in Chennai, India. The Transportation Operations and planning System (TOpS) handles events management, contracts, and route/schedule creation and maintenance. In addition TOpS also manages invoice submission, approval, and payment for Armored and Inbound transportation suppliers.

Managed the Enterprise Cash Logistics (ECL) iCom implementation project. The application will be used to reduce/eliminate penalties that will begin in 2006 for cross shipping with Federal Reserve Bank’s (FRB.) The project is projected to save $9MM per year in penalties between ATM’s, banking centers, and cash vaults.

Brought in to troubleshoot projects that are having difficulties and bring them back on time and budget. Developed a streamlined SSP (Standard Software Process) for all Fleet merger projects.

3/03 – 2/04 SPI (Software Process Improvement) Lead eCommerce

Responsible for 140 associates’ adoption of SSP (Standard Software Process.) Required strong influential management capabilities since most of the associates do not directly report to me.

10/01 – 3/03 Cross Functional Initiative Testing Management

Managed testing for all eCommerce initiatives that touched more than one build center (Online Banking, Dot Com, Middleware, host environments.) Learned how to manage and Influence teams of up to 40 people that matrixed to me for a project.

4/99 – 10/01 Online Banking Functional and Technical Testing Management Directly managed a team of 5-8 associates including performance reviews, salary reviews, talent planning, and coaching
