As with all hose pumps, there is only one wearing com- ponent, the hose, which can be replaced in minutes. But what makes the Bredel hose pump unique is the quality of its hose. This consists of four layers of reinforcement - braided nylon and high quality compounded rubbers - offering superb pres- sure and suction performance. It is also the only hose on the market to be precision ground to achieve unmatchable wall thickness and surface fin- ish accuracy. This maximises both the hose and the pump’s working life, and means that it can withstand shear sensitive, abrasive, corrosive, aggressive and viscous mixtures at high pressures.

# Gas-purged fewofluidic seal

purge capabilities so that it can handle particle laden gas streams.The purge prevents the ferrofluid from being damaged by particles and extends the operating life of the seal. It is ideal for vertical pumps, fans, blowers and other low-pressure devices that operate in dirty gas or air conditions.

This new seal is part of the company’s successful GT6 range of magnetic liquid rotary shaft seals and is one of several new options which extends the operating range of Ferrofluidic industrial seals. Other new developments include seals with anti-corrosive coatings for aggressive environments and custom designed seals for high- er pressure applications.

Ferrofluidic seals rely on a magnetic liquid O-ring to seal around a rotating shaft, They offer many advantages over conventional seals such as totally hermetic sealing, no wear and therefore minimal maintenance costs and the abil- ity to re-seal themselves after overpressurisation.

The well established range of MILROYAL and MAXROYAL hydraulically driven dosing pumps has recently been extended by the introduction of the new Primeroyal dosing Pump.

Developed by Milton Roy, the Primeroyal reciprocating dosing pump is capable of flow rates up to 36 m3/hr and pres- sures up to 700 bar, with an accuracy of better than f i%.

These robust and sturdy pumps are capable of handling toxic or hazardous fluids such as methanol and glycol

and are ideally suited to most chemical, general process and oil production applications. The pumps can be supplied with diaphragm or plunger liq- uid ends, with or without stroke adjustment and in a choice of configurations, such as simplex or multiplex. Their modular design means a high degree of flexibility combined with easier upgrading and maintenance.

They are available with numerous options such as: dou- ble diaphragm, diaphragm fail- ure detection, double check valves, spring loaded valves, slurry configuration, food grade design, cooling/heating jacket and automated flow control. If required the pumps can also be supplied as part of a skid mounted system, including stor- age tanks, pipework, instrumen- tation etc.

m Slurry pump for micro-electronics duties

Trebor International has ann- ounced the availability of its new Champion SL20 slurry delivery pump. This air-operat- ed, completely non-metallic pump is specifically designed for use in CMP applications for the microelectronics industry.

According to Greg Orr, vice president of marketing and sales at Trebor, “the SL20 significantly reduces shear effects that can cause slurry agglomeration and delivers smooth, consistent flow critical for slurry delivery. This is accomplished using a shaft-less, smooth flow path with oversized orifices, along with near pulse-less overlap- ping discharge cycles produced by Trebor’s unique cross phase discharge” control.”
