    Skill Development;

    All start in a 24x24m box.

    1. Players have to randomly pass 6-8 balls between each other with the following conditions;

    After every pass you run out of the box around a marker 6-7m away.

    Don’t follow the ball.

    Don’t pass to nearest man.

    Coaching Points;

    1. No overhead passes, movement, angled runs, clear passing channels, protect the ball when you receive it, use the correct hand if man to your left use right hand and to your right use the left hand.

    Skills;

    1 Hand Passing, pick-ups, high catch, slams, blocking, evasion etc.

    2 Two ball drills / complex skills.

    Set Up;

    1. Set up 8no cones 12m apart as shown. Have 24 players and 3 at each station. 2. To start have a ball at 1, 3, 5 & 7. 3. Have a coach at the back of three groups giving a 1-2 skill with player’s as they arrive back.

    Coaching Points;

    1. Proper execution of fast hand passing. 2. Selection of correct hand to pass the ball with. 3. Players at cones creating space to receive the pass.

    Progression;

    1. Shadow players inside.

    Rules;

    1. Attacker tries to lose the defender in the middle section. 2. The coach then throws the ball to the attacker and he tries

    to attack over the end of the grid.

    Coaching Points;

    1. No get, No turn, No move, No score. 2. As previous coaching points.

    Progression;

    1. Whistle 2. 2v2 and 15m wide grids.

    Set Up

    1. Set up nine even grids as shown each approx. 27m x 22m from the end line – 65m line and the full width of the pitch.

    2. Groups of players in 2’s, 3’s, 4’s or 5’s. 3. The ball has to be kicked greater than 30m in numerical sequence i.e. 1-2-3-1 (no more than one bounce).

    Coaching Points

    1. Good quality kicking and breaking down the technical coaching points of the kick pass. 2. Visual communication, pointing, go away to come back.

    Progression;

    1. Shadowing, passive pressure, on the clock and moving zones. 2. Kicking possession game.
