The Department of Management Studies, entering its 15th year of ex-istence was started with the goal of developing competent manage-ment professionals committed to pursue excellence. Increasing recog-nition and constant support from the industry bears testimony to the fact that the department has been successful in achieving this goal.

About IIT Roorkee
Indian Institute of Technology - Roorkee is among the foremost of insti-tutes of nationalimportance in higher technological education and in engineer-ing, basic and applied research. Since its establishment, the Institute has played a vital role in providing the technical manpowerand know-how to the coun-try and in carrying out research. The Institute ranks amongst the best techno-logical institutions in the world and has contributed to all sectors of techno-logical development. It has also been considered a trend-setter in the area of education and research inthe field of science, technology, and engineering.
The Institute offers Undergraduate courses in 10 disciplines of Engineering and Architecture and Post Graduate Degree in 55 disciplines of Engineering, Ap-plied Science, Architecture & Planning, Computer Applications and Business Ad-ministration. The Institute has facility for doctoral workin all Departments and Re-search Centers.
The Institute admits students to B.Tech. and B.Arch. courses through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted at various centres all over India and to MBA Course throughthe Common Admission Test(CAT).

It gives me a great pleasure in inviting you for the Execu-tive Placements 2013 for the 2011-2013 batch of MBA at the Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee.
The environment at Department of Management Studies is highly conducive to preparing management professionals well trained to handle the rigors of the corporate responsibili-
ties as well as the society. They are talented, sincere, committed, and have skill attributes that are meticulously nurtured during their stay at the department.
The two year intensive MBA program is designed to produce a skill-set that has optimal compatibility with the competency set desired by employ-ers and are suited for today’s business world. In addition to academics, we en-courage a good number of co-curricular activities that are managed by the stu-dents themselves with due support. They are also encouraged to participate in various competitions and have been bringing laurels to the department.
Through diverse approaches, we constantly endeavour to shape our students for higher responsibilities. I am happy to present the current batch of DoMS. In this emerging global competitive environment, there is a never ending need for providing management discipline support to de-serving students and rightly so, this need was felt in the first tech-nical university of India. Recognizing this, IIT Roorkee established the Department of Management Studies in 1998 to impart high quality formal education in management through a comprehen-sive two year full time residential MBA program. In a short period, DoMS has acquired and developed adequate infrastructure, exper-tise and resources for imparting quality management education.

PedagogyIn order to empower students to develop a globalized view of economical,technological, cultural and political environment of business, the Department overhauled the entire curriculum from 2012 batch onwards. A comprehensive restructuring was done and at present, it boasts of one of the latest and most up to date syllabus in place, for any B-School.
The very essence of business is creating profitable opportunities through a team of managerial talent adept at applying quantitative techniques along with astute knowl-edge of commerce and industry. The need of the hour is to produce managers with high academic integrity and accountability, ability to identify issues of national relevance as well as of global concern and most importantly individuals with a strong sense of social responsibility. What is needed further is exposure and experience. DoMS, IIT Roorkee provides its students with an opportunity to explore beyond their limits and enrich their thought processes through a rigorous academic course combining an ex-haustive curriculum and cutting edge pedagogy.
