2 Prerequisite information andconfigurationBefore you can add entries for the user and the phone in Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager and then register the Dolby Conference Phone with Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager, you need to collect some prerequisite information, configure the phone networksettings, and confirm that you have the required Cisco licenses.

2.1 Configuration process overviewSetting up a phone begins with configuration procedures that use the Cisco UnifiedCommunications Manager administrative web interface. The final setup step uses theadministrative web interface of the Dolby Conference Phone.

1. In Cisco Unified Communications Manager, create a security profile.

Note: The security profile setup is a one-time procedure necessary to create asecurity profile for the Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

2. In Cisco Unified Communications Manager, add a system user.

3. In Cisco Unified Communications Manager, add a device entry.

4. In the Dolby Conference Phone administrative web interface, configure the phone.

2.2 Prerequisite informationGather the prerequisite information before you begin configuring the phone.

Note: Your local system administrator can provide these details.

2.3 Network firewall requirementsNetwork Address Translation (NAT) is not supported by the Dolby Conference Phone.Therefore, the Cisco Unified Communications Manager servers should be on the same side ofthe organization firewall as the Dolby Conference Phones.

2.4 Cisco license requirementsEach Dolby Conference Phone requires three Device License Units (DLU) if using a softwarelicensing model, or one Enhanced User Connect License (UCL) if using a Unified WorkspaceLicense (UWL).

Note: The minimum UWL license required to support the Dolby Conference Phone isCisco Unified Workspace License (CUWL) Basic.

The minimum license required to support a third-party SIP phone is an Enhanced UserConnect License (UCL).

2.5 Cisco Unified Communications Manager SIPproxy server requirementsIn a clustered Cisco Unified Communications Manager deployment, the subscribers (SIPproxy servers) must be members of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Group that isapplied to the device pool where the Dolby Conference Phones reside.

Locations for both the Device Pool as well as the Cisco Unified Communications ManagerGroup are found under the System menu, as shown in these figures.

3 Cisco configuration proceduresUse the Cisco Unified Communications Manager to configure SIP settings, create a securityprofile for Dolby Conference Phones, and add system users, device entries, and directorynumber links for each phone.

3.1 Creating a security profile for Dolby ConferencePhonesThe security profile setup is a one-time procedure necessary to create a security profile forthe Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

About this task

Note: Transport Layer Security (TLS) transport is not supported with Cisco UnifiedCommunications Manager.

Procedure

1. From the task bar, select System > Security > Phone security profile.

2. Click Add New to add a new phone security profile type.

3. Select Phone Security Profile type > Third-party SIP Device (Advanced), and click Next.

4. Under Phone Security Profile Information, enter this information:

a) In Name, enter a profile name.

b) (Optional) Enter a description.

c) (Optional) If desired, set the Transport Type to TCP+UDP (recommended).

d) Check Enable Digest Authentication.

e) Click Save.

3.2 Adding a system user for each phoneCreate a unique user for each phone that you integrate with Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager.

Procedure

1. Select User Management > End User.

2. Click Add New.

3. In the User ID text box, enter a user ID according to the system and account policies ofyour organization.

4. In the Last name field, enter a last name.

5. In the Digest Credentials and Confirm Digest Credentials fields, enter the digitalcredentials for the phone.

6. Click Save.

3.3 Adding a device entry for each phoneCreate a device entry for each phone that you integrate with Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager.

Procedure

1. Select Device > Phone.

2. Click Add New.

3. Select Phone Type > Third-party SIP Device (Basic), and click Next.

4. Enter the device information in the text boxes, as shown:

• MAC Address: Dolby Conference Phone MAC address.

• Device Pool: We recommend that you enter the value used by the device pools ofother phones at your site.

• Phone Button Template: Select Third-party SIP Device (Basic).

• Common Phone Profile: Standard Common Phone Profile.

• Location: We recommend that you enter the value used by the device pools of otherphones at your site.

• Device Mobility Mode: Default.

• Owner User ID: Select the User ID that you previously created in Adding a system userfor each phone on page 9.

• Use Trusted Relay Point: Default.

• Always Use Prime Line: Default.

• Always Use Prime Line for Voice Messages: Default.

5. Configure the protocol-specific information, as shown:

• Presence Group: Standard presence group.

• Device Security Profile: Select the profile that you created for the phone securitysettings in Adding a system user for each phone on page 9.

• Rerouting Calling Search Space: Select an option to enable call forwarding on thephone.

• SIP Profile: Enter the SIP profile you want to use.

• Digest User: Select the user that you created in Adding a system user for each phoneon page 9.

6. Click Save.

Add successful displays in the status bar.

7. Click Apply Config.

A new window opens, and Status:Ready displays.

8. Click OK.

3.4 Adding a Directory Number (DN) link for eachphoneEach phone requires a directory number.

Prerequisites

This procedure is not specific to the Dolby Conference Phone, but you may need to perform itif it has not been set up previously.

Procedure

1. In the Association Information area, click on the Line [1] — Add a new DN link.

2. Enter the directory number information in text boxes shown in the directory numberinformation area:

• Directory Number: Extension number of the device. Use this number when you updatethe configuration files on the provisioning server.

• Alerting Name: (Optional) Enter an alerting name.

• ASCII Alerting Name: (Optional) Enter an alerting name.

3. Enter the directory number information in the text boxes shown in the Directory NumberSettings area:

• Voice Mail Profile: Select the profile to match the Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager system requirements.

• User Hold MOH Audio Source: Select 1-SampleAudioSource (the default).

4. In the Call Forward and Call Pickup Settings area, choose the appropriate calling searchspace and set values for No Answer Ring Duration.

5. Enter the following information in the Line 1 on Device area:

• In Display (Caller ID), enter a caller ID.

• Set ASCII Display (Caller ID) to the same value.

6. In the Multiple Call/Call Waiting Settings on Device SEP (MAC) area:

• Maximum Number of Calls: 3

• Busy Trigger: 3

7. Click Save.

4 Dolby Conference Phoneconfiguration proceduresAfter configuring the phone in Cisco Unified Communications Manager, use the touch screento configure the phone operation mode and then use the Dolby Conference Phone webinterface to register the phone.

• Plugging in and setting up the phone automatically• Configuring 802.1X• Configuring the operation mode• Opening the phone web interface• Configuring NTP• Registering the phone to Cisco Unified Communications Manager

4.1 Plugging in and setting up the phoneautomaticallyEach Dolby Conference Phone requires a wired network connection, preferably supportingPoE. Once your phone is plugged in, many settings may be automatically detected.

Procedure

1. Connect the phone to a PoE Ethernet port on the network using an Ethernet cable.

The setup wizard appears on the phone. The screens vary depending on your networksetup.

2. If the phone has Internet access and can connect to the Dolby Voice Console and yourconferencing service provider's provisioning service:

This only happens if you meet the requirements for Plug-and-Play Setup setup.

Requirements for Plug-and-Play Setup vary based on your conferencing service provider.For a list of requirements, see the configuration guide for your conferencing serviceprovider.

• If the phone is recognized by the Dolby Voice Console, the phone connects to yourconferencing service provider's provisioning service. No additional action is required toprovision the phone.

• If the phone is not recognized by the Dolby Voice Console, select your conferencingservice provider from the list. Follow the on-screen prompts to connect the phone toyour conferencing service provider's provisioning service.

If this does not happen, proceed to the next step.

3. If the phone discovers a Dolby Conferencing Console or a provisioning server on yournetwork, follow the on-screen prompts to connect the phone to one of these provisioningservers.

This only happens if the phone's administrator completed preparations so that the phonecan discover the presence of a Dolby Conferencing Console or a provisioning server bymeans of a Domain Name System (DNS) SRV record.

If this does not happen, proceed to the next step.

4. If you cannot set up the phone with the methods mentioned earlier, you must performManual Setup.

a) Choose Manual setup from this screen:

b) Follow the on-screen prompts to connect the phone to your Dolby ConferencingConsole or provisioning server.

Results

The phone is now connected to either your conferencing service provider's provisioningservice, or a Dolby Conferencing Console or a provisioning that is on your network.

4.2 Configuring 802.1XIf your network requires 802.1X authentication, use the touch screen to accept theauthentication server certificate and enter credentials.

About this task

The network setup wizard detects many of the settings for you, including your VLAN and IPnetwork settings. In this figure, the Dolby Conference Phone has detected those settingsupon initial setup.

If you see this screen, you can configure some 802.1X options, described in this section,directly in the wizard.

Procedure

1. If a PKI-based authentication method is selected by the authentication server, you areprompted to review the server certificate information.

2. Enter the user name and password when the server requires credentials forauthentication. Depending on the authentication server configuration, you may beprompted to enter authentication credentials before you accept the server certificate.

4.2.1 Updating 802.1x authentication credentialsYou can update 802.1x authentication credentials without rebooting or resetting the DolbyConference Phone.

Procedure

1. From the phone home screen, tap this sequence:

> > Administrative Settings

2. Enter the administrator password, and tap Enter.

3. Select Network Configuration > 802.1x.

4.3 Configuring the operation modeYou can configure the Dolby Conference Phone for either Conferencing mode or Dual mode.

About this task

Conferencing modeUse if you plan on using your phone with your conferencing service provider only.

Dual mode

Use if you want to have IP private branch exchange (PBX) integration with yourconferencing service provider.

If you want to have IP PBX integration with your conferencing service provider, changethe configuration mode listed in this table.

1. Go to Settings > Features in the web interface.

2. Choose a value for Operation Mode.

4.4 Opening the phone web interfaceEnter the phone IP address in your web browser to open the phone web interface.

Prerequisites

You must have a network-connected desktop or laptop computer with a web browsersupporting HTML5 installed. (Modern versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, andSafari are supported.)

The web browser will be used to configure the phone, so it must have IP networkconnectivity to the Dolby Conference Phone.

Procedure

1. From the phone home screen, tap this sequence:

> > About > General

2. Scroll down until you see the IP address.

3. Enter this URL in the browser address bar.

If a security warning displays, accept the warning and proceed.

https://your phone IP address

4. Log in to the Dolby Conference Phone using the default credentials:

• Username = admin

4.5 Configuring NTPYou must specify Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers in the network settings so that thephone displays the correct date and time.

1. Click the + to open the network settings parameters.

2. Click the + to open the NTP section.

3. Enter the server addresses provided by your local system administrator.

4.6 Registering the phone to Cisco UnifiedCommunications ManagerUse the web interface to register the phone to Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

About this task

This procedure sets these Dolby Conference Phone configuration parameters:

1. Select Settings > IP PBX Settings > Account.

2. Change the Account settings as shown:

• Display Name: The name of the phone user or conference room (for example, SamSmith or Board Room)

• Extension Number/Address: Extension number (mandatory)

If desired, you can enter a full phone number instead of a just the extension.

• Display Number: Extension number

If you do not enter a value, the Extension Number/Address value displays.

• Transport Type: AUTO (works with Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and UserDatagram Protocol (UDP))

• Secure Media: Mandatory

• Transport Port: 5060

3. Change the Server settings as shown:

• Primary Call Server/Outbound Proxy: IP address of Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager (mandatory).

• Primary Server/Outbound Proxy port: 5060.

• If Cisco Unified Communications Manager subscriber is available, enter the details inthe Secondary Call Server/Outbound Proxy field.

Note: You must enter in the address of the subscribers that are part of the CM groupof the phone's device pool. If you enter the wrong server, the call manager rejects thephone.

4. Update the credentials.

These settings are mandatory for digest authentication:

a) Enter the User Credential Name that you created in Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager.

b) Enter the User Credential Password that you created inCisco Unified CommunicationsManager.

c) Confirm the password, and click Save.

If the information is correct, the phone registers with Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager.

5. To verify the registration with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, go to Status >System > Device.

GlossaryDHCP

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol.

DNSDomain Name System. An Internet service that translates Internet domain and hostnames to IP addresses and conversely. DNS automatically converts between the nameentered in a web browser and the IP addresses of the web server hosting the site whoseURL is entered in the web browser.

IPInternet Protocol.

LLDPLink Layer Discovery Protocol . A vendor-neutral link layer protocol for Ethernet networkdevices such as switches, routers, and wireless local area network (LAN) access points toannounce information about themselves to other nodes on the network and store theinformation they discover, as defined in IEEE 802.1AB.

NTPNetwork Time Protocol. A network protocol for clock synchronization on computers.

PBXPrivate branch exchange. A phone system that is delivered as a hosted service.

PoEPower over Ethernet. A solution in which an electrical current is run to networkinghardware over Ethernet category 5 or higher data cabling.

SIPSession Initiation Protocol. An application-layer communications protocol used forsignaling and controlling communications sessions.

TCPTransmission Control Protocol. A communications protocol that specifies how datashould be formatted, addressed, transmitted, routed, and received at the destination.Part of the Internet protocols communications suite.

TLSTransport Layer Security. A cryptographic protocol designed to provide communicationssecurity over a computer network.

UDPUser Datagram Protocol. A communications protocol that uses no handshakingdialogues to establish a connection with the remote host. UDP is a member of the IPsuite.

VLANVirtual LAN. Any broadcast domain that is partitioned and isolated in a computernetwork at the data link layer (OSI layer 2).
