Installing DMX-USB-Pro

Installing Driver

The DMX-USB-Pro is supported by drivers for the following Operating Systems:

Windows 8 / 7 / Vista / XP / 2000 / 98 / ME

Apple OSX

Linux

Hereby we illustrate how to install driver for Windows for example.

Firstly, double-click and run CDM v2.12.00 WHQL Certified.exe in the CD-ROM tthe VCP (Virtual COM port) drivers for FTDI chip.

Selecting a COM port

** Virtual COM port (VCP) drivers cause the USB device to appear as an additiona

port available to the PC. Application software can access the USB device in the sa

way as it would access a standard COM port.

Secondly, you may now plug in the DMX-USB-Pro to any available USB port in y

computer. You may also plug the DMX-USB-Pro into a USB hub, but when doing sosure that enough power exists on that hub to provide for the device and all other poover-USB devices plugged there as well.

When you make the connection to your computer, a few seconds may pass before anything happens. After that, a message should appear saying your computer has detected new hardware and the new hardware (DMX-USB-Pro) will be installed

automatically. And then the LED indicator on the DMX-USB-Pro starts to blink as thardware is ready for use.

Setting up DMX-USB-Pro

In most cases the USB port you plug the DMX-USB-Pro into will automatically fall inacceptable range with respect to the other elements of your computer's communicatports, here is what you can do to change the COM port. Before making any changadvisable to keep a record of which serial port has been used in each attempt to cothe hardware and drivers. That way you will be able to retrace your steps should ydecide to go back and try something again but with different settings elsewhere.

Click on your Start Menu, and tright-click on the icon for your computer. Select Properties .

Then close all the windows that got you to that point, with OK or Apply , and try udevice again.

Now you can click the Enttec DMX USB Pro in the Plugins in Use column, and thPlugin to set/check details.
