EXALTED RULER MESSAGE
Hello Everyone, as you may
remember, last month we implemented stricter mandates for wearing masks. I want to thank most of you for complying with these requirements. However, there have been a few incidents where individuals did not follow the guidelines and we had to enforce them. Just please remember that if you are in line at the cash register or bar, maintain 6 feet distance between you and others and wear your masks!
On a more positive note, we had a very successful first concert for the year. I want to thank Julie Wright and John Dearing for their outstanding performances. My hats off to Rene’e Danelon and Donna Dearing for promoting and organizing this marvelous event. Look for more events in the future.
We are bringing back music on Friday nights. So far dancing is not permitted, but it will be great to have some of our entertainers back to brighten things up. Also on Thursday afternoons, Kevin Auernig is performing in the club room from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please come up and enjoy.
Your new Board of Directors has met and our first meeting went very well. The members of the Board are working diligently to bring back more activities, while trying to keep you, our members, as safe as possible. I am very excited to be working with such a great group of officers.
Sharon Goetzman, Exalted Ruler

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MESSAGE
Hello everyone, I hope this message finds
everybody healthy and safe. Everything we are doing at the lodge and as ourselves has been nothing less than monumental.
As we move forward with this crazy year, there are some things that continue to go on, and we will take care of maintenance and problems as they arise without fail.
It has been a very stressful but enjoyable time, we brought back Friday Fish Night and entertainment, and it is so nice to have something going on at the lodge pretty much every day of the week. We are not back to 100%, but in small steps within the next few months, hopefully we will be back to 100%.
One last note, I want to thank Terry our Lodge Treasurer, and Betty our Lodge Secretary for being at the office this entire time keeping track of day-to-day business, and our Lodge ER, Sharon, and the Chair officers who have also been there day after day as we reopened. Thank you to all of the membership for all of the support that you have given the lodge in this time. This lodge belongs to all of us.
Respectfully,
Lance Wright, Chair

Hello, Everyone! Hopefully, you have all survived the August heatwave. September should start a gradual cool down and
migration back to St. George with our city welcoming more members back. Our meetings will start up again on the second Tuesday of September. Remember that our meeting time has changed to 5:30 p.m.
Our second meeting of September, on the 22nd, will be a dinner meeting to honor our past LOE Presidents. There will be a nominal charge for dinner, but this is a worthwhile event to honor these ladies, presented by our First Vice President, Kaye Petersen. Please plan to attend to support this event.
Also, on Saturday, September 26, the LOE annual rummage sale will be held in the pavilion. The rummage sale hours are from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Please bring any items you wish to donate to the pavilion at 5:00 p.m. on Friday,
September 25. Remember no large furniture items, tv’s, mattresses, clothing or books. You never know what treasures you may find, so please come up on Saturday morning and check it out.
I hope to see you on September 8. Remember, in a world where you can be anything, be kind. Regards,
Lynne Pappas, Dixie LOE President

VETERANS CORNER We continued to help Veterans in retirement homes in Washington County in August. We contacted fourteen homes to
check on the needs or wants of our veterans. Four of them requested ELK playing cards, Crossword Puzzle books, Word-Search books, and of course the always requested regular and sugar free candy. We were happy to supply them to 51 vets in the area. It also gave us the opportunity to discuss and offer the Adopt-a-Veteran Program. Several of the Homes are interested and invited us back once they are reopened.
The following members have contacted us to volunteer their services on an on-call list for Adopt-a-Veteran; Jolene Fray, Debbie Curtis , Kim Hugentobler and Evelyn Wilson! Thank you. We are still looking for volunteers to adopt an individual vet or perform a task on an as needed basis. We hope to hear from Veteran members who are able. Visiting a fellow vet or completing a simple request is rewarding for both the giver and the recipient.
The following is a list of September Dates to Remember: September 7 Labor Day September 11 Patriots Day September 18 POW/MIA Recognition Day September 27 Gold Star Mother’s Day Important: the VA sent out a notification about mailed prescriptions; order refills at least 10 to 14 days in advance of
running out if you are not on the automatic refill plan due to delays by the post office. Please remember to reach out to our Veterans with care and understanding.

September 13 would be a good day for you to come to Sunset Bowl. You will enjoy good company, help support our scholarship fund, and maybe make some money.
Yes, I am talking about No-Tap Bowling! Here is some of what happened at Sunset Bowl on the 9th of August.
62 Bowlers showed up for an afternoon of fun. Hi-money winners were Wil for the men ($19.50) and Susan for the Ladies ($10.00).
Indianna-Bobi, Chase, Chris, Max, Troy, Tony, Pearl, Kayla and Mo tried for the Strike Pot. Indiana ($25.00) and Mo ($25.00) were the sharpshooters. Not as easy as it looks and luck does help at times. Nice "rolling" you two.
Rebecca who was more than lucky, she won the Lucky 13. How sweet was that. Jerry Bundy and Wil Mariluch had a great day as they both rolled 300. Feels good for the soul to do that even in No-Tap.
Make a note now - our next day of bowling, rolling, fun, and winners is Sunday, September 13! PLEASE arrive at Sunset Bowl by 1:15 in order to get the lanes assigned to what is needed to make everyone happy.
Thank you for your support.
