I see this song as a call to action against ourselves and the monster we have created by destroying mother earth. It is a battle to the end with the elements we have set upon ourselves.

We have taken and taken from our own life support system for too long, and now it’s time for the earth to take back what we’ve taken from it, and are still taking from it. I see the Dirty Skirts swathed in this enraged planet and the elements that make it up.

I want to use the elements to create the visual treatment/distortion that I see played out all over the world. I want to show what awaits us if we don’t embrace the simple truth that we need to stop harming our world.

So in the literal sense this is what I propose for this video.

I want to put the Dirty Skirts(DS) into this elemental space, not have them separate from this, so there is one coherent progression for the video. So as the space changes from

The beginning of the song sees an open and barren landscape where we can see the toll of man on nature, it has been stripped of all living things, leaving a sandy, dusty,

waste, signs that man was here and just abandoned it once he was done with it.

The DS are revealed in the distance isolated from each other, as the song progresses they get closer and closer together. The time of day is full daylight afternoon, where the sun bears down on the landscape like a sledgehammer, burning anything in it’s site.

The wind picks up and the DS visually struggle against it’s force as they play, there is

The last 30 seconds of the song are played as the sun rises on a new landscape. They are in a green lush landscape which looks untouched by man, the light is soft to start,

leaving a white screen, and the last echo of the song.

EARTH

Earth is the element that will be trasnformed in the video, it goes from a deso- late destroyed wasteland to a lush and alive world where hope and living things

destroyed by man as our starting point. So I’m thinking desert, drought ridden veld, garbage dump, quarry where the earth has been hewn away and is no longer even under foot.

For a good idea of what I plan to do with the overlays that I have spoken about all the way through this treatment. Check out “Bleeding in Cab” by the New Loud Rockets.

I’m open to your thoughts, let me know what you think.
