The QU Dining Experience is Introduced! What is the Dining Experience? Modern dining with a taste of Community

Legacy Events

The dining experience at Quinnipiac University is enriched by the many special events each year hosted by Campus Dining. These events include international theme dinners, outdoor BBQs, and holiday events. These events are designed to create excitement and memorable experiences for all students who participate in these FREE events!

Pop Ups

Pop-up events are a powerful combination of expected and unexpected. Periodically, throughout the year, we are going to just “pop up” and start serving great eats. Be it free ice cream on the quad or a free hot chocolate station, these events are sure to have a big impact.

Culinary Innovations (Limited Time Offers)

The Limited Time Offer (LTO) is a proven strategy for testing new products, introducing new menu items, generating a buzz in retail locations and giving guests a compelling reason to make an immediate purchase. The LTO program is designed to bring something new and exciting on a rotating basis in order to keep our retail menus fresh and keep guests coming back.

$5 Sunday Brunch

Fifteen times per year, students will enjoy all-you-care-to-eat (AYCE) events. The AYCE Brunch will take students out of the norm and offer them the opportunity to sample and ultimately enjoy a wide variety of foods.

Pleasant Surprises

Who doesn’t love a tasty surprise treat? Who doesn’t love to go to stores for their samples? Our students do! We partnered with vendors to offer sampling surprises, tiny little tastes, to get our students taste buds excited.

The Q Factor

These value meals will be available to all students at every café. They will be designed to offer students a full meal at a reduced rate. The menu items will change so we are providing variety to the offerings.

Free Meals!

As an exclusive feature of the all-new Quinnipiac meal plans, each participant will receive 1 free birthday meal and 6 additional meal credits on their meal plans complimentary of Chartwells.

Guest Service Guarantee

Campus Dining is committed to providing a Wow Dining Experience for our guests every day, every meal and every Dining Experience Event. Compass in the Community After a long history of community service with the QU community Chartwells made this promise official. Now we have community service included in our vision plan. This commitment made by Campus Dining will allow us to expand our partnership with Quinnipiac charitable missions.

New Concepts: The students asked and we listened! After the extensive Onsite Insight surveys and focus groups were completed it was obvious that the students desired the following concepts to make the Quinnipiac Dining Experience complete.

Revolution Noodle and Sushi was opened to satisfy that craving for sushi. The first day some students waited outside Revolution Noodle and Sushi for the much anticipated opening for 2 hours! There were over 1,300 rolls made to order! The menu includes sushi rolled to order by The One Sushi restaurant and pho noodle bowls created by the Chartwells team. The sales have exceeded our expectations and the reviews continue to be great. This partnership with The One Sushi restaurant and Campus Dining is a great example of how to provide authentic cuisine in a university environment.

Starbucks was second most requested concept by our generation z students in the survey. The students are now greeted with the aroma of espresso and freshly brewed coffee from our full service Starbucks. Student enjoy specialty coffee drinks and hand crafted beverages. Starbucks also features the full line of grab-and-go sandwiches and pastries.

Balance Kitchen opened on the North Haven campus to satisfy our students’ health and wellness goals. Balance Kitchen is an innovative café that promotes and assesses healthy and sustainable lifestyle behaviors. A large variety of fresh, local, sustainable and healthful options available at the Balance Kitchen café. Nutrient and ingredient information provide the student with the knowledge needed to make informed, healthful and sustainable choices.

Peet’s Coffee is now offered at the North Haven Café. Coffee drinks are now available.

The Daily Press opened and features panini sandwiches.

For the student that needs a quick bite and a beverage the Au Bon Pain Express was opened. The Au Bon Pain Express offers fresh bakery items, soup and prepackaged sandwiches and salads. The students can grab something to eat on the go, or stay and enjoy in the café.

Campus Dining has taken a holistic approach to designing the meal plan. The meal plan value now has an increased monetarily value with the inclusion of free events, value meals and discounted meals. It also reaches beyond the walls of the dining facilities with pop up events, pleasant surprises and legacy events. Finally the meal plan builds on our partnership with Quinnipiac and surrounding communities with its official commitment to community service events through the school year. The Dining Experience meal plan seeks to be an integral part of the students’ everyday life. The students may enjoy a Dining Experience campus wide on all three campuses whether it be in their resident hall, the quad or at the bus stop! We bring the Dining Experience to them!

Kudos! “I had a double lung transplant, and as a result I have certain food restrictions. Hershel, on the york hill cafe had informed me that the fish and chips were not entirely hot when I had arrived. He then offered to heat them up for me so I would not get very sick. I was so touched and impressed that Herschel remembered our past conversations. He looked out for my health and my well-being, he's definitely an asset for this school! I just wanted to let you know how awesome he is!”, Nicole Antaya “Just want to say that the lunch today at G8 was amazing! Great flavor. The ground turkey with beans was great and the server was super friendly .” Austin
