4 Chapter 2 Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar In this chapter I explain about the company profile, vision and mission, and the organizational structure in Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar. Short Profile of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar is an element of the local government executive authority in the field of tourism and culture. Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar was formed in 1987 based on Local Regulation No.2, 1984. The law was made based on the decision of Central Java Governor No. 7, 1984 on the Delegation of Local Government of Karanganyar regency, then for the smooth operation of the government and development-related tourism Karanganyar regency needed to set up an institution that takes care of the tourism and culture, so they formed Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar. All of the owner of the tourism destinations in Karanganyar have been cooperating with Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar to promote tourism potential in karanganyar . So that Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar can develop the tourism potential in Karanganyar and the owner of the tourism destinations in karanganyar get benefits such as the existence of visitors who will visit their toursim destinations and they get the license to build a tourism destination. Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar

In this chapter I explain about the company profile, vision and mission, and the

organizational structure in Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar.

Short Profile of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar

Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar is an element of the local

A. Vision

1. The realization of Karanganyar regency as a center for Tourism and Culture that

established.

B. Mission

1. Realizing Karanganyar as a tourist and cultural center.

2. Realizing tourism as supporting economic improvement of society.

3. Developing the tourism marketing that is effective, efficient and good quality

service.

Organizational Structure

Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar is headed by the Head of Dinas

Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar and management of tourism destinations in

Karanganyar regency.

Based on the Karanganyar Regent regulation No. 78 of 2008 on job descriptions

and functions of structural positions in Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan

Karanganyar, Chapter II, Article 2 on the organizational structure of Dinas Pariwisata

dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar which are as follows:

1. The Head Of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar

2. The Secretariat, supervising:

a. Sub Division of Planning

b. Sub Division of Finance

c. Sub Division of General and Civil Service

3. Tourism objects and facility division, consisting of:

a. Staff handling tourist objects and attractions

b. Staff handling attractions, Recreation and Entertainment

c. Staff handling tourist facilities

4. Tourism marketing division, consisting of:

a. Staff handling tourism promotion

b. Staff handling services and travel information

c. Staff handling increased community participation and partnership

5. Culture Division

a. Staff handling art, languages and film

b. Staff handling Museums, archaeological, history and traditional values

The Duties and Functions

Duties and functions of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar are

confirmed in the Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2009 on the Organization and Work

Procedure of the Regional Office of Karanganyar and regulated in more detail in

Karanganyar Regent Regulation No. 75 of 2009.

Systems and Procedures work profile of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan

Karanganyar as follows:

1. The Head of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar :

a. Assisting regent in performing the duties of autonomy in the field of

tourism, culture and promotion or marketing.

b. Performing, planning, and controling the field of tourism, culture and

promotion or marketing.

c. Performing operational activities, mentoring, coaching and giving

recommendations for licensing which conformes to policy made by regent

based on the legislation in effect.

d. Coordinating and establishing partnership with related parties related to the

development and empowerment of tourism and culture.

e. Performing tasks assigned by the regent and regional secretary in their

respective field.

f. Reporting and taking responsible for the implementation of its tasks and

functions to the Regent through the regional secretary based on the

regulation in effect.

2. Secretariat

a. Organizing General affairs, finance, employement and organization

edification.

b. Internal need of administration fund.

c. Enforcing discipline and developing employees and organization welfare.

d. Reporting and taking responsible for the implemention of its taks to head of

addministration division.

The Secretariat has several sub division, which are:

• Sub Division of Planning

The head of planning sub division has a main task to organize data,

coordinate action plan, evaluate, analyze, compile reports and the achived

results, carry out the legal affairs of the organization and the achived results and

carry out the organization's legal affairs and governance.

• Sub Division of Finance

The head of the finance sub division has a main task to budgeting, planning,

financing, financial management, accountability and administration.

• Sub Division of General and Civil Service

The head of the general and civil service sub division has a main task to do

paperwork, filing, equipment, personnel administration and fostering.

3. The Head of Marketing Department

a. Assisting the head of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar in the field

of development and promotion of tourism and cultural advancement.

b. Developing and finalizing the provisions of the regional authority to perform the

duties of the office, medium-term and annual planning in the area of promotion.

c. Implementing development and management of tourism and cultural promotion.

d. Implementing travel market analysis conforming to regulations in effect.

e. Coordinating and doing cooperation in the evaluation of activities in the field of

tourism awareness and cultural awareness.

4. The Head of Objects and Infrastructure Division

a. Performing activities related to tourism object, the means of interaction, tourism

services and various facilities.

b. Implementing, coordinating and controling the medium-term and annual

development services relating to the development of the tourist object, facilities,

and attractions.

c. Carrying out activities related to tourism infrastructure energy.

d. Implementing coordination, cooperation and evaluation of the organization or the

procurement of materials and tourism infrastructure energy and culture travel

conforming to the regulation.

e. Reporting and holding responsibilities for the implementation of tasks to the head

of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar.

5. The Head of Cultural

a. Assisting the head of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Karanganyar in planning,

coordinating, fostering, developing and implementing cultural and ancient art.

b. Designing and finalizing the standard of the regional authority of Karanganyar or

performing the duties of the office as well as the medium-term and annual plans in

the area of culture.

c. Dealing with implementation, guidance, control, documentation, registration,

publication, equipment, maintenance and utilization of culture conforming to

regulations in effect.

d. Preparing the materials for developing the carrying out of art, culture, and

preservation of archaeological artifacts.

e. Organizing cooperation in the scope of history and arcaeological artifacts.
