Digital Photo Syllabus CLASS DESCRIPTION: In this class, students will learn the basics of digital photo, including composition, subject matter, lighting, and more. Emphasis will be placed on manipulation of photos using Macintosh compatible computer programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, and Adobe Lightroom. CLASS OBJECTIVES: -The student will learn basic information about digital cameras and how they work. -The student will learn proper composition when taking photos. -The student will learn how to load and organize photos into a computer using Adobe Bridge. -The student will learn how to manipulate photos to meet assignment requirements, using such programs as Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. GRADE: Your grade will be based on meeting specified requirements for each assignment as designated by each assignment sheet. Craftsmanship and participation will also be considered when grading. Most Importantly…BE HERE!! This is a hard class to miss and get caught up in, unless you are willing to come in after school. If you are chronically absent… this may not be the best class for you. CLASS RULES: Be Respectful: Please respect each other, the teacher, our equipment, and our supplies. Be Responsible: The equipment you get to use is expensive & is a privilege, please be protective of all of our equipment and make good choices when using it. Be Kind: A safe environment in which we all feel comfortable is very important in order to create and be successful. And no messy snacks!!! Phones: Phones are permitted in class as long as you use them for educational purposes - “The Powers of Good” (photographs and Flickr). Texting, Answering the phone, and checking social media IS NOT PERMITTED… I WILL TAKE your phone.
