    BIOL 115DIETARY ANALYSIS PROJECT (DIETARY LOG ) INSTRUCTIONS

    The dietary analysis project will

    enable you to analyze your diet for

    total calories, percent, and amount

    of the major food groups:

    carbohydrates, fats, proteins;

    vitamins, and minerals. The project

    consists of a dietary log and 4

    assessments: carbohydrates, fats,

    proteins, and vitamins and

    minerals.

    Use the forms below to record all

    food and beverages (not water)

    consumed each day for 7 days,

    including the types and quantity of

    the foods and beverages

    consumed.

    Table of Food Composition

    The Table of Food Composition is foundin Appendix H of your textbook. Learnhow to use this table by first reading theUsing the Table paragraph found onpages H1 and H2. Use the table todetermine the values of the items listedabove. Calculate totals of each item for

    each day of the week.

    Data CollectionYour record of your dietary intake shouldbe typical for you. Eliminate special dayssuch as parties, weddings, holidays, etc.
