Summary of IBLP Designs

Summary of Designs

Design 1: This design represents the “Balance” in the IBLP. This Logo shows a person doing Yoga with the background of a Yin and Yang logo. This pretty much shows how the logo represents “Balance” because it has elements of balance symbols. It will be enclosed by a colorful ring which represents the world and the IBLP.

Design 2: This design represents the “Caring” in the IBLP. This logo shows two hands of a person in a shape of a heart. By showing the two hands means helping and caring for each other, while the heart represents care and empathy. This will be colored in red to emphasis on “Care” and as well as suiting the heart shape. Though I believe I will find some challenge in creating this logo because it requires me to make a heart shaped hand shake.

Design 3: This design represents “Open Minded” in the IBLP. This logo shows a crescent shaped opened window shade which opens to the view of the world. The window shade is opened as a symbol of us being “Open” to new ideas and to the world. Yet I believe some might get confused by the true meaning since it looks like a ball with a tiger motifs.

Summary of Designs

Design 4: This design represents the “Risk Takers” in the IBLP. This logo shows a word “Risk” with a person jumping off from the other side. This design shows how that person took the risk of doing something new and jumping to the unknown yet still excited of finding out what’s behind. Unfortunately this design is too simple and perhaps needs a few modification later on in the create stage.

Design 5: This design represents the “Reflective” in the IBLP. This logo shows patters of waves and also trees and the reflection is shown underneath. The beach and trees represents holiday and relaxation while waves represents hard work. These are both reflected underneath showing reflection of the pattern. This is a unique logo, yet there might be some difficulties in making the wild patter of the waves.

Design 6: This design represents the “Inquirer” in the IBLP. This logo shows a question mark surrounded by the cyber gates that opens. The question mark represent inquiry from the students while the cyber gate represents an opening for answers. This logo might be effective if people doesn’t get caught up with the question mark and thinking it’s a question box.

Summary of Designs

Design 7: This design represents “Principled” in the IBLP. This logo shows a circle which is surrounded by three barriers to protect. The inner circle represents the principle or belief of a student while the three barriers are representing actions and defense against forces who are against it. The only problem with this logo, is many might not understand its true meaning and thought its a Cyber logo.

Design 8: This design represents “Communicators” in the IBLP. This logo shows the symbol of a telephone with the world map on the background. This telephone represents communication while the world represents communications through out the globe. This is a good design since it represents communication to the international world.

Design 9: This design represents “Knowledge” in the IBLP. This logo shows a mind map in the shape of the Brain cell. Those complicated design represents knowledge in wide variety of range. This is an effective design to show knowledge but the mind map design might not be able to be done so easily.

Design 10: This design represents “Thinker” in the IBLP. This logo shows 4 gears with a lightbulb inside the biggest gear. The gears represents thinking while the lightbulb represents ideas generated from it. This is a good design since it relates much with Thinking.

Summary of Designs

Design 1: Design 1 is a Tiger in which will be used as one of the intramural games logo in Sinarmas World Academy. The Tiger it self represents strength, courage, fierceness and power. I personally liked the logo since it showed how fierce and powerful the tiger is. Though one concern that I have is that it looked a bit like a Lion since I minimize the stripes. So I might add some changes later on by adding more stripes to make it “Tiger” looking.

Design 2: Design 2 is a Manta Ray in which will be used as one of the intramural games logo in Sinarmas World Academy. The Manta Ray it self represents flexibility, strength, power and domination in within. I personally liked how the logo is done simple and is just to represent those points. My only concern is that people will think it’s too simple and the Ray has no head on it.

Design 3: Design 3 is a Komodo Dragon in which will be used as one of the intramural games logo in Sinarmas World Academy. The Komodo Dragon represents strength, fierceness, power, domination and uniqueness. I personally think the logo is cool and is quite bold for a Komodo Dragon. Though I have concerns that the Komodo Dragon that I drew resembles too much of a Snake and people might have mistaken that for a Snake. I might make some changes to make it look more “Komodo” looking.

Summary of Designs

Design 4: Design 4 is a Shark in which will be used as one of the intramural games logo in Sinarmas World Academy. The Shark represents courage, boldness, fierceness, strategic and also domination. It is powerful logo. I personally designed the logo so it looked more or less like the Rip Curl Logo Concept. It looks more wavy and the shark looked bolder and cooler. I like the logo and I don’t really have any concerns except for the high difficulty level in creating it.

Design 5: Design 5 is an Orangutan in which will be used as one of the intramural games logo in Sinarmas World Academy. The Orangutan represents flexibility, courage, uniqueness and strategic. I personally zoomed into the face of the orangutan because that’s where everything happens. I’m not so good in terms of drawing eyes, so it looked a little bit scary to me. Therefore some changes needs to be made in terms of that.

Step By Step

Sketch the designs on a piece of paper as a start

Scan the designs to the computer to be edited further

Prepare the layout in Pixelmator to 800x600 Canvas

Create background circle at 498 pixels

Create smaller circles above it in forms of layers

Refine all the layers of the circle

Evaluation of the Plan- Is the plan SMART?My plan is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Fits the Time Frame. From the step by step plan, I have inserted pictures with the explanation which is specific in telling people what to do. The logos are achievable to make due to the technology we have today, with applications like Pixelmator or Photoshop, making logos aren’t as hard. The Time frame is around 2 weeks for the create stage which I think should be enough for creating the logo since I tried designing them simple.

- Is the plan set in logical steps?I think my plan is set in logical steps which can be seen from both the Step by Step and the Gantt Chart. I think it would be best if both of them are used together since they answer to each other. For example perhaps more detailed steps are inserted in the Gantt Chart, also the Gantt Chart provides time frame for each step. The steps are planned so that it doesn’t go from start to end and to middle, they are logical and followable.

- Modifications? My plans of modification lies in several designs, one of them is the Tiger in which I have to add more stripes, some other I might reduce the complexity to fit into the time frame and the Pixelmator Capabilities.

- ConclusionI think the plan went well and everything is set for the create stage. The only thing that needs to be understood is how the step by step is used along with the Gantt Chart to provide clearer explanation in the process.
