Organisation are formed for fulfilling certain objectives. The objectives are laid down as and when an organisation is started . it is the pooling up of ideas and innovations for sustainable developments. Organisation refers to the structure or relationship among positions and jobs which is built up based on the realisation of common objective of organisation. The organisational study is a direct investigation about the functions and activities carried out in an organisation. It gives a clear insight into the real life situation and this study enables to know the functions and importance of each department in an organisation. As a part of academic progress, i had the opportunity to understand the organisation and working.

We can study each department in an organisation. Various factors like manpower, money , machinery, capital, managements etc. Are group together to form an organisation and to

achieve the goals of the particular person and organisation.

INDUSTRIAL PROFILE

Transformer industry, it is a heavy electrical industry depends sole on the power development in the country in particular and of the world in general . that is, demand for transformers and related products are a derived demand dependent on power sector development. The power generating capacity in india increased almost 50 times during the past fifty years . the transformer industry mainly comprises the power transformers segment and the industrial transformer segment .the industry is monopolistic in nature with the bulk of the demand for power transformer being generated by state electricity boards and central government undertaking, independent power producers and turkey projects. Power is a basic inputs for growth and development of a company and it is essential ingredient for improving the standard of living of the people.

A transformer is a device that transfer electricals energy from one circuit another through inductively couple conductor , the transformers coils. A various current in the first or primary widing creates a varing magnetic flux in the transformers core and thus a various magenetic field through the secondary winding. This varing magenetic field induces various electromotive force (EMF), or voltage, in the secondary winding, this effect is mutual induction.

TELK in the power transformer field in india as follows:-

First 400 KV power transformer manufacturer in india First 315 MVA capacity ,400 KV transformer manufactured in india Largest capacity generator transformer manufacture in india ( 630 MVA bank capacity

supplied in 2003) First 400 KV gas circuit breaker manufactured in india. The largest capacity isolated phase bus duct (ipb) in the indian grid was supplied by TELK

for the first 500 MW unit at bombay. TELK is the public sector undertaking in india having successfully short circuit tested

400KV ,315 MVA transformer with basic emulation level point First 400 KV condenser busing manufacturers in india etc.

TYPES OF TRANSFORMER

A wide variety of transformer design are used for different applications, though they share several common features .it is so important in our common use also .like railway

Page 3: Departments 2

station, for using electric control and also company use also . important common transformer types includes.

1. AUTOTRANSFORMER

IN AN AUTO TRANSFORMER POSTION of the same winding act as both the primary and secondary. The winding has least three taps where electrical connection are made . an autotransformer can be smaller, lighter and cheaper than a standard dual –winding transformer however the autotransformer does not provide electric isolation.

Autotransformer are often used to set up or down between voltage in the 110-117-120 volt range and voltages in the 220-230-240 volt range eg. To input either 110-120v (with taps) from 230v inputs, allowing equipments from a 100 or 120v region to be used in a 230v region.

2. Polyphase transformer

For three phase supplies, a bank of three indivisuals single-phase transformers can be used, or all three phase can be incorporated as a single three phases transformer. In this case, the magnetic circuits are connected together the core thus containing a three phase flow of flux . a number of winding configuration are possible giving rise to different attributes and phase shifts. One particular polyphase configuration is the zigzag transformer used for grounding and in the suppression of harmonic currents.

3. LEAKAGE TRANSFORMERS

A leakage transformer , also called a stray field transformer , has a significantly higher leakage inductance than other, transformers some time increased by a magnetic bypass or shunt in its core between primary and secondary ,which is sometimes adjustable with a set screw.

4. REASONENT TRANSFORMERS

A reasonent transformer is a kind of leakage transformer. It uses the leakage inductance of its secondary windings in combination with external capacitors , to

Page 4: Departments 2

create one or more reasonent circuits reasonent transformers such as the tesla coil can generate very high voltages and are able to provide much higher current than electrostatic high voltage generation machines such as the van de graff generator . one of the applications of the resonant transformer is to couple between stages of a superheterodyne receiver , where the selectivity of the receiver is provided by tuned transformers in the intermediate frequency amplifiers.

5. AUDIO TRANSFORMER

Audio transformer are those specifically designed for use in audio circuits. they can be used to block radio frequency interefence or the DC component of an audio signal ,to split or combine audio signals, or to provide impedance matching between high and low impedance circuits, such as between a high impedance tube (valve) amplifier output and a low impedance loudspeaker , or between a high impedance instrument output and the low impedance input of a fixing console.

6. ISTRUMENT TRANSFORMERInstrument transformer are used for measuring voltage and current inelectrical power system, and for power system protection and control. where a voltage or current is to large to be conveniently used by a instrument, it can be scaled down to a standardized, low value . instrument transformer isolate measurement, protection and control circuitry from the high current or voltages present on the circuits being measured or controlled.

APPLICATION OF TRANSFORMER

A major application of transformers is to increase voltage before transmitting electrical energy over long distances through wires. Wires have resistance and so dissipate electrical energy at a rate proportion to the square of the current through the wire. by transforming electrical power power to a high high voltage (and therefore low current) from for transmission and back again afterward ,transformers enable economical transmission of power of long distance .consiquently, transformers have shaped the electricity supply industry , permitting generation to be located remotely from points of demand . all but a tiny fractions of the worlds electrical power has passed through a series of transformer by the time it reaches the consumer.

Page 5: Departments 2

Transformers are also used extensively in electronic product to step down the supply voltage to a level suitable for the low voltage circuits they contain . the transformer also electrically isolates the end user from contact with the supply voltage.

BUSHING

The specializations are:

1. 3.3kv to 420 KV bushing2. Oil impregnated paper type state of the art design at high voltage 3. High current bushing up to 10,000A4. Manufactured under strict quality control5. All units partial discharge tested as routine

6. All test done as per Indian / international standard.

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTHUR

Communication process &methods

Communication is an essential part for the of any organization .in TELK two ways of communication exist .one is formal and other is informal . company provides extension phones and parallel connection to every department .written order in the form of circular, memos etc are used for communication . common matters of the company are in the notice board.
