Keynote address

Anne Berg, PhD and Assistant Director of

Undergraduate Studies

“Obstinate Questions” Anne Berg received her PhD from the University of Michigan in 2011.

Anne teaches courses on German, European and World History. She

studies cities, war, public leisure, film, popular culture, and is most

deeply interested the global politics of waste and recycling. Anne is

currently completing the manuscript of her first book “Urban Legends

the Making of the Nazi City.” She is also working on a second book

project preliminarily entitled “Empire of Rags and Bones: Waste and

War in Nazi Germany.”
