Overview

We aimed to secure a forward 2yo type from the main catalogue of the 2016 Magic Millions Gold Coast

Yearling Sale. Our pre-requisite were yearlings which on type were capable of making early 2yo’s and

preferably those with pedigrees that indicate 2yo ability.

This sale is very much about buying athletic forward two year-old types. This years sale was particularly

strong with the main book running at an average price of $194,000 (up from $167,000 in 2015).

This years Magic Millions 2yo Classic winner was Capitalist. He was a very good looking forward type of

yearling. Whilst his sire Written Tycoon may not of been the ‘sexy’ stallion he is now, Capitalist sold

himself on his outstanding type.

The $10m Magic Millions Raceday is certainly capturing the minds of many owners who want to be

involved in this exciting day. To do that we sometimes have to up our scopes and work hard to secure

the right type of horse. In the Delago Deluxe x Aqualuna colt, we did just that.



About The Colt & Breeder

This colt is an absolutely outstanding colt and he was our top choice of the 500 yearlings we inspected.

He is perfectly balanced. Medium sized, short coupled, great hind quarter, lovely smart head, kind eye

and a very good disposition. He has all the attributes of a 2yo type. We have purchased a large number

of yearlings out of the Gold Coast ring, never before have we been able to secure a horse that we feel is

the right type to target the 2yo race with. This is the colt. If you ever wanted to have a runner and maybe

the winner of the $2m Magic Millions 2yo classic, this is your chance!

As we do at each sale, we inspected every yearling by every first season sire. We found the progeny of

DELAGO DELUXE to be far and away the most impressive in relation to their potential precocity. We

rated this colt the best of his available yearlings and feel we purchased him at the right price during the

softest part of the sale on Day 1. Had he of sold later in the sale he would of made $300k+.

This colt was bred by highly respected breeders Bridgett Woodford Smith and Peter Stewart under

their Huntworth Stud Banner. Huntworth are outstanding smaller breeders who have produced a wide

range of top class racehorses stretching right back to a Melbourne Cup winner Just A Dash.

Coincidentally Just A Dash (pic below) lived out his days in retirement at Willow Dene, the property our

NSW horses spell at. Their horses are afforded every care and turn up to sale in outstanding order.

They are renowned for producing yearlings naturally and establishing a good foundation in each horse.

At the sales this colt showed an exemplary attitude and this attribute matches his forward physical

appearance. He carries all the qualities needed to make a two year-old.

Melbourne Cup winner Just A Dash. Bred by Huntworth Stud. Lived out his days at Willow Dene.



Tavistock (by Montjeu) – out of a Quest For Fame mare: Multiple Gr 1 winner & now champion young

sire. Bred on a similar cross to this colt.

The Plan

This colt was sent to Willow Dene, Marshall Mount NSW with Stephen Hill. This is the farm we use in

NSW to spell our yearlings prior to breaking. Brazen Beau followed this path as a yearling.

He will spell until mid February before going to master breaker Paul Blattman (also broke in Brazen

Beau).

He will return to Willow Dene to spell for another 4 weeks, before 2 more weeks of pre-training prior to

going into Chris Waller for his first look at a racing stable.

All being well we will be looking to debut in October – November 2016 before targeting the Magic

Millions in January 2017.

From January 2016, the Jeep Magic Millions Raceday will become Australia’s richest raceday with $10

million in prizemoney over nine races.

This colt will be eligible to compete on this prestigious raceday for his entire career, commencing next

Champion South African sprinting sensation Delago Deluxe is an unbeaten Gr 1 winning Champion 2YO

who returned at three to win the time honoured Gr 1 Golden Horseshoe. The Australian born son of

Delago Deluxe was unbeaten in his 4 starts at 2 years, winning a Gr 3, a Gr 2 (now classified

as a Gr 1) and the Gr 1 Gold Medallion over 1200m

Won the time honoured Gr 1 Golden Horse Casino Sprint over 1200m at 3, equivalent to

Australia’s Newmarket Handicap. The Golden Horse Casino Sprint has been won by world-

class sprinters Shea Shea and JJ The Jet Plane

He is a magnificent individual who sold for $550,000 as a yearling at the Magic Millions

This is a real speed Australian family with plenty of 2yo credentials. Some wonderful sire influences

here. DANEHILL & VAIN, as well as BAGUETTE & the younger QUEST FOR FAME.

We love the fact that outstanding Kiwi sire and broodmare sire influence CENTAINE is out of this colts

fourth dam RAINBEAM.

Aqualuna won her first start in march of her two year-old year before going into stakes races later at 2

and 3. At stud Aqualuna has already produced the very fast 2yo MEZERAY MISS who was a

stakeswinner at 3. She won 2 races as a 2yo and contested 2 of the first races in Melbourne during her

juvenile career in October. She has since been sold on as a broodmare fetching $220,000 in 2015.

Quest For Fame is doing a great job as a young broodmare sire. His daughters are nicking very well

with the Sadlers Wells sireline with both TAVISTOCK (by Montjeu) & COMPLACENT (by Authorized by

Montjeu) being by from Quest for Fame mares. This is similar

About The Trainer: Chris Waller (Rosehill & Flemington)

Chris Waller is Sydney’s reigning champion trainer and has become one of the dominant forces in

Australian racing over the past 5 seasons. His most recent star performer is our own dual Group 1

winning colt Brazen Beau, who followed in the hoof prints of champion 3yo colt Zoustar. Chris has now

prepared more than 50 Group 1 winners. Chris operates his main stable at Rosehill in Sydney, whilst

he is expanding his representation in Victoria with a growing stable at Flemington. Chris also

campaigns horses regularly in Queensland including a significant team at the Winter Carnival.



Sales Vet Check & Vet Certificate

This colt has been examined and passed by Vet Examination and is deemed suitable for racing

purposes by Dr Johnnie Walker. A vet certificate is provided and available for potential subscribers to

shares in this syndicate.

Share Prices

The syndicate being formed will consist predominantly of shareholders with 10%, 5% or 2.5% shares.

Share prices are as follow.

10%= $29,000, 5%=$14,500 & 2.5%=$7,250.

Share price includes all formation expenses through until 31 March 2016 at which point ongoing

expenses are then billed to each shareholder.

Ongoing Expenses

Ongoing expenses on this Colt will commence from 1 April 2016 and will be billed direct from Chris

Waller. On average we estimate the ongoing monthly expenses to be: 10%=$460 per month, 5%=$230

per month & 2.5%= $115 per month.

Prizemoney

Prizemoney is paid direct to each 10% and 5% shareholder direct to their nominated bank account from

Racing NSW/Racing VIC/Racing QLD etc. 2.5% shareholders receive prizemoney at the end of each

month from Ontrack (there is no provision for the Racing NSW/Racing VIC/Racing QLD to pay smaller

syndicate shareholders not named in the racebook at this point).

Livestock Mortality Insurance

The Colt is insured for mortality value of $290,000. 12 months cover for incoming shareholders is

included in the share purchase price. Ongoing cover after 12 months from 7 January 2017 will be at the

option and expense of each individual shareholder. An insurance certificate of currency is provided and

available for potential subscribers to shares in this syndicate.



Communications Service & Management Fees

We provide a comprehensive communications service located at www.ontrackthoroughbreds.com.au .

This provides a detailed horse progress service which includes photos, videos, horse reports and trainer

updates. We charge $290 per annum (inc GST) per this service. For owners with multiple horses

syndicated by Ontrack Thoroughbreds, you only pay this fee once (for example, 4 horses charged a

total of $290 per annum). Aside from this annual fee, we charge no other monthly or annual

management fees for our any of our horses.

Inspections

The Colt is currently located at WILLOW DENE, Marshall Mount, (NSW). The property is south of

Wollongong along the F1 expressway within easy reach from most Sydney suburbs.
