Decoy carts, revisited..........
Thought I'd build another post to build on the other cart thread.
Here's my 4-wheel jobber, a beast for sure but does the job in all types of ground. Carries 5 dozen loose DSD small dekes or 30 DSD honkers or 10 dozen
duck floaters..........
Blinds attach to top with bungees hooked to hooks on side. Gun rack and stake tube..........
I'm downloading the North Speck pics right now, will post them next. __________________

I like your stake holder on the outside along with your gun rack. Right now I'm using a bucket inside the cart and it's a pain.

Yeah its a pretty slick idea (not mine) so I added another on
the other side to facilitate carrying a lot of stakes __________________

Are the sides just plywood? The end panel looks sort of warped like a flexible thin plastic sheet but it also looks blistered like a delaminating sheet of plywood. You just push/pull those loop style gate handles? What do you guys use for axles to attach bike wheels like that? Pretty cool, I don't need anything that huge but I can see how it would be useful for someone taking out big goose spreads or BIG ducks spreads for that matter.
Doh I see in the second pic it's a see through mesh of some sort. So just a fabric over a metal frame? __________________"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." — Dr. Seuss"Who is Rich? Thin plywood, the fabric is a sort of a thick cordura, durable as hell, all around a metal frame.
We push this cart with ease, rolls nice. Axle is solid metal rod, 1/2" I think. __________________

Here's the North Speck:
Here's the cart with the fiberglass tub, I added some gun racks to the handles.
Here's the nut that you loosen up that then releases the whole piece in the third pic:
The fork then just spins into the tub that's cut to fit the moving fork.
Its a nice cart, don't know if i'll use the tub, might replace it with a large otter sled as it fits well inside the cage. __________________

Dan, Nice set ups.
I remember the NorthSpecks when they first came out in the early 90's. They started at about $ 200.00 and a few years later were up to $ 1,000.00
Dave, I used a 3/4" round steel foundation stake for the axle on my modified firewood/log carrier with mortar tub and plastic outdoor end table (dog stand). You can push it with one finger. __________________CWA life memberDU member

We've used threaded rod for several carts at work but I was never really happy with them. I've always wanted to add little "stubs" higher off the sides of a tub for the wheels to attach and avoid a rod going cross the center of the cart. I guess getting all the weight up a little higher might make them handle better in the muck though. My Rubbermade works great but I wish it was more collapsible for the back of my rig. Takes up a lot of space that could be holding decoys, etc. __________________"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." — Dr. Seuss"Who is Rich? edso, you may want to try Parker (the Hose & Fitting division) for that fitting. I deal with them regularly at work and they may just be able to accomodate you.

Ya gotta give Dan credit as he made the drive all the way from Willows to Turlock to pick up the Northspec cart.
