Queen’s University Major Admission Awards & Queen’s Chancellor Scholarship

For major admission awards: By Nov 15th you should have applied for admission to Queens; must have access to their online student centre SOLUS & submit online application by Dec 1, 2017

*Nomination required for the Chancellor (2 at HWW). Submit a paper copy of your online application for major awards to your counsellor by November 21. 1 of the 2 Chancellor nominees may be selected as a QuARMS candidate.

Superior academic ability, creative and original thinking, involvement in school or community activities, and proven leadership qualities. Financial need is also a consideration.

Apply for one or all admission awards by submitting a single Major Admission Award Application.

$16, 000. 90%+ in 4 grade 11 courses (listed on website); demonstrated leadership, excellent communication skills, record of community and school involvement, demonstrated abilities other than purely academic, completed U of M application by Dec 1 including payment of application fee.

These are prestigious awards up to over $40,000. Most are renewable for several years. Based on academic excellence (90%+) as well as citizenship. Must first apply for admission; you do not have to be conditionally admitted before you apply!

You require a UCalgary student ID # and use your MyUCalgary account to apply.

The scholarship average is calculated on 4, 20-1 level grades, or 4, 30-1 if the student has already completed high school. Math 20-2 is OK in this calculation. They will not combine completed Gr 12 courses with Gr 11. There is an extra-curricular section and financial need section if applicable.
